Magic Kingdom

• Walls are still up for the continuation of the Fantasyland Expansion, but more walls have shown up closer to Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, for the new Pooh meet and great taking over the once Tiger Bounce Play Queue.
• Hours have been extended for most days of June with more performances of the Main Street Electrical Parade.

Epcot

• In a few hours Disney’s Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure will be removed from the parks. Phineas and Ferb will be appearing in the parks with new interactions at 7 of the World Showcase countries. ‘Disney’s Phineas & Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure’ will be using a device called F.O.N.E. to complete each case. This new adventure is slated to kick off in late June 2012.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios (May the Force be with You!)

• Be aware the weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is filled with geeks of all kind that enjoy Star Wars. Star Wars Weekends have officially kicked off and will last until June 10. While most of the guest-line up usually stays the same, some have scheduling conflicts come up in which changes the line up, with this occuring Jerome Blake is out this weekend, but with a replacement of Andy Secombe, who voiced Watto.
• One Man’s Dream now has a new exhibit showcasing the Fantasyland Expansion model. This is part of the ‘Legacy Continues’ exhibit within One Mans Dream. The model is very expansive and detailed so take a hour, if you can, to enjoy this exhibit.

Around Walt Disney World Resort

• New merchandise will start selling at the new resort Disney’s Art of Animation. The new merchandise includes clothing, from hats, to shirts, pins, down to decals. The merchandise is very animation heavy so if you like Animated films such as Finding Nemo, to Lion King this merchandise is great for you.

Disneyland Resort

• Hello Cars-O-Rail. Yes the Disneyland Monorail’s are also receiving wraps of a kind. These new wraps are on the front of 3 of the resorts monorail promoting the new Cars Land are at Disney California Adventure. The Cars on Rail wraps are great to see, since they are not wrapped around the monorail except in the front and matches the monorail’s color scheme.
• Merida is now meeting near It’s a Small World attraction and the parade gate, while not extensive’s as Disney World’s meet and greet it does offer many props.
• Carnation Cafe will re-open at Magic Kingdon on June 13, 2012. A new updated menu with the addition of many of the classic comfort will be added to the refurbished restaurant.
• World of Color will add a new sequence to the show with the addition of Brave. The new sequence with the remodeled Disney California Adventure will be shown on June 15, 2012.

• Its a Small World is getting exterior facade work done to the building ahead of the new Fantasyland opening late this year.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

• Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular will be down on May 16 and 17, 2012.
• One Man’s Dream is scheduled to be closed on May 15, 2012. There is no word to why this attraction will be closed. Maybe a new exhibit, maybe not?
• During Star Wars Weekend you can freeze yourself into Carbonite as did Hans Solo. The place where you will be casted into carbonite is adjacent American Idol Experience.

Around Walt Disney World

• At Downtown Disney, Disney’s Car Masters Weekend will return again from June 2 and 3. There will be a movie marathon of both Cars and Cars 2 at the AMC Theaters.
• Shark Tank arrives at Disney’s Water Parks. A towel that covers your whole body and goes over your head was showcased on the ABC show “Shark Tank” and is now being sold at both Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon.
• Beginning June 1, 2012 you will be able to get a dinner and a show with Cirque du Soliel and House of Blues teaming up for a $99 plus tax for age 10+. This is limited time special but a great sale. The package is valid Tuesday’s and Saturday’s from June 1-30 and call 407-WDW-SEAT to book.

Around the World

• The Disney Wonder is saying Aloha as she has been spotted near the islands of Hawaii on her 15 day voyage.
• Disney Cruise Line is now offering tours of “the Big Apple” New York City when the Disney Magic starts making it’s voyage from NYC to Florida.

Magic Kingdom

• Disney is now testing out a new Fastpass system, X-Pass, as what we have talked about on RTM. At random guest that will be arriving between May 1 and May 15 will get to choose a fast[ass type of itenerary for the Magic Kingdom attractions. These attractions include  Mickey’s PhillarMagic, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and Stitches Great Escape. These Fastpasses used RFID so you will find a ball with a Mickey shaped head on it at all of the above attractions.
• Well get rid the Holiday season is around the corner. Disney has now confirmed the dates for both Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Dates for the Halloween Party are: September 11,14,18,21,25,28 and 30, for October 4,5,8,11,12,14,16,18,21,23,25,26,28,30,31 and November 2. Christmas Party dates are:  November 9,12,15,16,25,27,29,30 and December 2,4,6,7,9,11,13,14,16,18,20,21. Note that other days may be added as we get closer to the Holiday season of 2012. Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary are now on sale at the official Disney World Website.
• Roadwork near the Magic Kingdom bus stop on World Drive began this past week. This will extend the length of the turn lane into the Magic Kingdom bus stop area.
• Tickets are now on sale for Night of Joy, Christian Rock concert, that occurs on September 7 and 8. Tickets cost $52.95. This cost goes to both the bands and also having a change to riding many of the Magic Kingdom attractions.

Epcot

• Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar and Tutto Italia Ristorante has recently re-opened. There was no menu change to Tutto Italia. Tutto Gusto is mainly for wines but also offers small plate food which include:  many Italian cheeses. Tutto Italia has experienced change in interior.
• Duffy is still promising strong  in Epcot which shows in Disney is limiting sale of same item of Duffy Purchases with the same UPC code. The limit is only to 5 items per customer per store.
• The lineup for 2012 ‘Eat to the Beat Concert Series’ for Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival is now unleashed. Many of the clasics from Sugar Ray to Gin Blossoms, and BBVD are returning and some new artists such as Javier Colon winner of the TV show “The Voice” will be coming to Epcot for the series.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

• Welcome to Hollywood Captain Jack. “The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow” will be coming into one of the Soundstages off of Pixar Place. This will be an imersive attraction and put the guests into the middle of it all the Disney Parks Blog has stated. The attraction has been stated to be opening in fall of 2012.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• With a recent incident occurring on the weekend of April 22, It’s Tough to be a Bug and other surrounding areas of Tree of Life closed.  It’s Tough to be a Bug has recently re-opened but the trails around the Tree of Life stay closed for the time being.

Around the World

• Captain Mickey threw out the first pitch for a New York Yankees game. Captain Mickey and the Disney Magic will soon be sailing out of New York City this summer.
• Tokyo Disneyland will be turning 30 in 2013. Beginning on April15, 2013 the resort will kick off Happiness Year celebration which will feature a new parade, the re-imagined Star Tours.

Disneyland

• Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, Candy Palace and Penny Arcade on Main Street USA has re-opened this past week.
• At the Matterhorn attraction scalfording has now been removed from the attraction, with testing of the new bobsleds.
• Carnation Cafe is now behind walls to be converted into the Princess Fantasy Faire.
• Construction within Disney’s California Adventure is still ongoing  with walls still all over the place.
• Lighting rigs and stages are now being imputed for the placement of the Mad T Party layover. The stage is being put up outside the Monsters Inc attraction.
• Canopies are now added to the Screamin’ queue which now offers shade to the queue from the California sun.

Magic Kingdom

• Little Orange bird in the Sunshine Tree Terrace is now back. This bird is very retro from Magic Kingdom’s early days and now has come back to Adventureland with the Citrus Swirl. With the Orange Bird being brought back you can now buy merchandise, with this little bird that cannot talk, on the products. The Orange Bird was unveiled at a D23 Tweetup offering a discussion with Imagineers and tasting of some of the best citrusy and pinapply at Sunshine Tree Terrace.

Epcot

• The major attraction in Future World East Test Track has gone down for it’s lengthy refurbishment. Test Track will be going through a re-imagining of the attraction and is subject to open in fall of 2012. An A Cappella group Test Track All Stars is now playing in front of Test Track refurbishment walls.
• There is now a new shirt that is being sold at Mouse Gears with the Monorail by passing Spaceship Earth. This shirt looks very retro like from Epcot about 30 years ago.

Around WDW Resort

• While we have recently talked about the Disney Cruise Line offering VIP Tours of Walt Disney World when Disney Magic takes it itinerary to New York City, added to that list will be a special Illuminations Fireworks Desert Party.
• Goodbye Joe Hursh hello new narrator of the monorail. The legendary voice of the Monorail, Joe Hursh has been relieved of his speaking on the monorails with a new narrator. While the original Jack Wagner, “Please Stand Clear of the Doors” remains a new narrator brings many new attractions aboard the touring above the sky of Epcot, and the Magic rails.

Disneyland

• Everyone’s favorite, classic, and patriotic The Voices of Liberty from the American Adventure at Epcot will be added to Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. The Voices of Liberty at Epcot will remain with an additional cast of singers being added to the west coast.
• Electronica at Disney California Adventure has had it’s “End of Line” this past week. A replacement to this will be for Tim Burton’s film Alice in Wonderland and will be called Mad T Party.
• WonderGround Gallery will be coming to Downtown Disney, Disneyland, June 9, 2012. This gallery will be unique and contemporary like of many of the Disney Classics. Up and coming local and international will have their art work displayed through WonderGround Gallery.
• When Cars Land opens in mid June their will be special meet and greets with some special characters from the Cars movies. There will be also entertainment presented on the streets of Radiator Springs.

**Stars in the Parks**

• “Modern Family” Actor Nolan Gould, Luke in the show, took sometime to take a photo with Donald while with his family on vacation.
• Actress Cassie Scerbo who stars in “Make it or Break it” on ABC Family, took a photo op with Minnie Mouse at the France Pavilion at Epcot.

Epcot

• With Test Track scheduled to go down on Monday, April 16, attractions will remain open for soaking up the crowds over lost capacity at Test Track. The Land Pavilion and Character Spot will remain open till 10 PM with the Living with the Land attraction and Soarin’ remaining open till 10 as well. Also with Test Track going down for it’s lengthy refurbishment an a Capella group the Test Track Allstars will be making appearances near the attraction to loosen up the crowds. Test Track will remain closed through the summer with a scheduled re-imagined attraction open by fall of 2012.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• Good Morning America’s weather man the Sam Champion was at Animal Kingdom to promote the new DisneyNature film “Chimpanzee.” Sam took a tour of Animal Kingdom appearing in different locations during the broadcast of GMA.

Disneyland

• Beginning this past Thursday, April 12, 2012, Disneyland Resort began offering email reservations. Guests may email dine(at)disneyland.com and must include name of restaurant, reservation date, period of the day (morning, lunch, diner), number of guests, your name and number. Note that your request is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation number. Note this is only for select sit down restaurants at Disneyland Resort.
• Beginning on April 30, 2012 Carnation Plaza Garden at the Magic Kingdom will transform to the Fantasy Faire Experience. This experience will let you the guest into stories of the favorite princesses letting you meet and greet with them as well.
• Sunglass Icon in the Downtown Disney District is being redone to become a flagship location and will open for Summer of 2012.

Disney’s California Adventure

• The Pixar Play Parade will return back to the street’s of DCA when the park expansion is complete. This parade brings to life some of the most favorites out of the Pixar films including Finding Nemo, and Cars. The parade will begin rolling down the block on June 15 with a few changes to the parade with an addition to a few characters.
• Beginning June 15 guests will get to dine with Ariel and Her Pals at Ariel’s Grotto including Breakfast, Lunch, or Diner. Dining packages at Ariel’s Grotto for World of Color will no longer take place at this dinning location after June 14, 2012.

Disney

• GMA gave away winners of the Disney’s Memory Makers, in Time Square , trips to any of the Disney Parks.

• Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin will be going down for a very brief refurbishment from June 27, 2012 and re-opening on June 29, 2012. While many attractions go down for refurbishment’s they are never this short. This refurbishment could possibly be for a Maintenance purpose.
• Fantasyland Train Station Outpost has been spruced up greatly this past week. Say goodbye to the “toony” water tower and outpost building, the new theme is rustic fitting greatly into the Storybook Circus area.
• The Main Street Center Street refurbishment has since finished with great repainting done to the facades. The buildings look very great to view and a quick tip this area is very quiet from the Main Street USA crowds so take some time to enjoy this area.
• The Sunshine Tree Terrace facade refurbishment has finished showing of great details returning it back to the opening day facade. While Little Orange Bird cannot be seen anywhere in Adventureland, but behind a certain overhang you can find a tribute to the Orange Bird.
• With the transition of Merida going to the Fantasyland Fairytale Garden, Rapunzel will be making a switcharoo to the Town Square Courtyard on April 15, 2012, in where Merida will start appearing the the Fairtytale Garden in May.

Epcot

• Tutto Italia now transformed to the new Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar. The new transformed restaurant will have 96 seats which will offer a more intimate experience, with the theme being of a wine cellar with stone walls, floors, vaulted ceiling and a fireplace in the middle of the dinning room. The hours for the new restaurant are 11:30 am to 9 pm. There will be 6 different types of authentic Italian foods that will be offered.
• Easter Events: Sunday April 8, 2012 | At the United Kingdom Pavilion in World Showcase you will be able to meet with Mr. and Mrs. Bunny who will host an Easter egg hunt 3-9 and Easter Egg Relay 8-12 occurring from 11 am to 3 pm.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

• Ashley Eckstein and James Arnold Taylor will be hosting this years Star Wars Weekends beginning May 18-20 and continuing each Friday to Sunday till June 10, 2012.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• Throughout the Easter Period till April 14, 2012 Fastpass will be offered for Festival of the Lion King, and Finding Nemo check the tip board in Discovery Island for distrubtion time and area.

Downtown Disney

• Basin in the Marketplace has since reopened from it’s refurbishment. The store has been re-cleaned and now featured a Mickey sculpture all made from bar soap.
• The Volcano section and Steel Section at Rainforst Cafe, Downtown Disney, has been removed with a new facade coming sometime in October, 2012.

Disneyland

• The awnings from the refurbishment of Carnation Cafe  are now taking shape.
• With Matterhorn Bobsleds now becoming single seater per seat the height restriction for the attraction has to go up from 36 inches to now 42 inches. While Disney did allow parents to keep hold of their children when the seats were duel seating but now with the attraction becoming single seater this will not be allowed, so this is where the height increase comes.
• DCA Refurbishment:
• Tile roofing is continuing on many of the building with painting going on many of the buildings.
• The Red Car Trolley has now added a tension wire along the route. The wires are made to resemble the wires from that powered the trolley system in Los Angeles.
• Radiator Springs and the ridge of Mountains are over a month away from being unveiled to the public. The mountains were supposed to be called Cadillac Ridge although Disney was unable to secure the rights to the name of Cadillac, Cadillac declined.
• Debuting May 12, 2012 at Disney Vault 28 at Downtown Disney will be able to buy retro attraction bags. Prices range from $78 to $268.

Disney

• D23 Destination D Celebrating 75 Years of Disney Animated Features: This event will occur at Disneyland Hotel occurring between August 11 – 12, 2012. Highlights during this event will be how the Disney Animated Films influenced the Disney Parks, rare and never seen artwork and footage.
• For guests traveling on the Disney Magic from New York City are in luck to go behind the scenes of the many Disney performed musicals at New Amsterdam Theater. Guests will be able to book a tour to view unseen areas from the general public. After the tour the guests will be able to see either Marry Poppins or The Lion King.
• Guests that share a story about someone who has impacted you in a positive way http://disney.go.com/memories/. Five grand-prize winners will win a vacation for themselves and three guests, plus a vacation for his or her memory makers. Winning families will also receive a Sony Camera.

List of things changed:

1) The home page has been changed greatly. We now have cleaner navigation bar that will move when you scroll up and down the homepage.

2) The sidebars have been changed. Contact Information is hidden but when you click on one of the five links the sidebar scrolls down which shows you different ways to get in contact with us via Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, all the way down to our Voicemail line.

3) We also added two weather functions, which shows you the current weather at both the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, and the next three days of weather. So if your at Walt Disney World or Disneyland check out the website and see what the current weather will be like.

4) The podcast player now has been more enhanced with the RTM logo being above the player and a subscription button to easily subscribe to the Remember the Magic Podcast.

5) The list of posts have now been cleaned up, with the Recent Blog Posts now at the top of the home page, which I can state we are lining up more blog posts comming up after Easter. We hope to have blog posts more than once a week, we are secretly working on whats to come up on the blog, but we know it will be fun to do, and read.

6) In the post sections of each posts you can now easily share out what your are reading or, ahem, listening to with Twitter, Google+, Facebook, Pinterest.

7) Above the sharing buttons you can also see who wrote the “blog post,” this is only for blog posts since nobody will be writing anything except for the pre-written show notes. Also you can click on the author picture to see what other recent posts that the author has written.

8.) At the bottom of the page if you have a smartphone you can scan the qr-code that is at the right hand side of the footer. You can easily check out the website and bookmark right from your phone. We are soon to be working on a smartphone friendly web-design, while the regular design will remain the same, we do not know as of yet how the smartphone design will look.

9) Finally we have added some Easter Eggs or tributes to Disney Attractions so make sure to go and check these Easter Eggs out.

1. Presidential News: President Barack Obama was in the Magic Kingdom on Thursday Jan. 19, 2012 to talk about enhancing tourism in the United States. With this occurring on Main Street USA all guest not invited to the speech had to be rerouted behind Main Street USA and enter through Tomorrowland. This just in Tomorrowland is the new Main Street USA. The speech could be seen on Resort TV, and in the Hall of Presidents, with the use of projection on a screen and not the Obama Audio Animatronic.

3. Holidays at the Magic Kingdom and all across the Disney Parks are sadly over for 2011. The Cinderella Castle Dreamlights are now being removed, which means the crane is on sight over the next week.
4. Wolfgang Puck Express refurbishment. The outside seating area will soon be enclosed, and once its enclosed there will be huge windows so people can view into Downtown Disney and eat.
5. Katsura Grill in Japan Pavilion has recently, this past week, opened officially with a grand opening with Epcot’s VIP. Katsura Grill had a refurbishment over the past year and open back in December.
6. Walt Disney World Resort will be an excursion for those guests on the Disney Magic traveling from New York City to the Bahamas. On the journey from New York to Bahamas there will be a day stop at Port Canaveral for a trip to Walt Disney World. The Magic will offer an excursion with a private VIP tour guide, the guests will have access to the fast pass queue and transportation from Port Canaveral to Walt Disney World.
7. Art of Animation first phase has an opening date of May 31, 2012 the first phase area will be the Finding Nemo section and soon after that will be the Cars area.

Disneyland Resort

1. The Matterhorn is continuing with there refurbishment with scaffolding around the mountain and Load/Unload section being rebuilt from the bottom, up.
2. The Haunted Mansion is closed for being reverted back to the ghost host, and the removal of the holiday overlay. The Haunted Mansion should be re-opening on Jan. 24, 2012
3. Adventureland is going through refurbishment with the rerouting of the Juice Queue being removed from the Tiki Room Queue.
4. Ringwood Creek Challenge Trail is closed till February 2, 2012.
5. World of Color is having water nozzles refurbishment over the next week and should be finished by January 26, 2012.

To begin we see Sorcerers of theMagicKingdomcoming to Walt Disney World Resort later this month. In December we saw testing via cast members with the Sorcerers of theMagicKingdom. For those that are unaware what the Sorcerers of the MK is, this is something like Kim Possible Experience without the need of a cell phone but with a trading card. This experience will need you the guest defeat the Disney Villains.

Also opening in theMagicKingdomwill be the first phase of the Fantasyland Expansion. The first phase we will see the unveiling of the new dueling Dumbo’s, the Great Goofini, Storybook Circus Train Station and area. Rumors are spreading that the new area will be opening in February, but as always we will be on top of the news story and hopefully have video’s of the new area throughout the year. While we have not heard when and if the other areas except Storybook Circus will be opening this year, we will keep up to date on the expansion throughout the year.

On the west coast opening in summer of 2012 will be the newDisney California Adventure Buena Vista Street. The Red Trolley Trains will appear on the streets, also the Carthay Circle Theater, and the Storytellers Statue will appear in DCA. Also opening in summer of 2012 will beCarsLandor also liked to be called (by Kyra and myself) Radiator Springs. Coming withCarsLandwill be the Radiator Springs Racers, and two other new attractions to look forward to in DCA. Disney’s California Adventure will be a newly transformed park to look forward to through the year.

One More Disney Day
This is a new promotion for the early part of 2012 which will offer a daily winner for 4 guests to either go to Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort. There will be 60 winners starting today till February 29, 2012. (www.onemoredisneyday.com) On February 29, 2012 guests will be offered 24 hours within the Disney Parks. Both theMagicKingdom’s inDisneyland and Walt Disney World will be opened from 6 A.M. till 6 A.M. March 1, 2012. Also valid for stays between February 26, 2012 till March 10, 2012 guests will be offered for most stays 3 days and over an extra free day. This just goes to as you what will occur after February?

Ever since the Magic Kingdom’s birth there have been several and many changes to the park. This includes the addition of the three major mountains, to the addition of the seventh land, Mickey’s Toontown Fair, changes to Tomorrowland, and the growth of shrubbery around the park. While in the past 40 years we have lost sadly some attraction including Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, the Skyway, Timekeeper, Mickey’s Toontown Fair and several others. But other than the addition of several attraction to the loss of others, the Magic Kingdom looks very similar to the original opening day park. In the past 40 years there were only 2 resorts and one park, but since then there was a major growth to the Walt Disney World Resort including addition of three more parks: Epcot, Disney’s MGM Studios, ehem, Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and two water parks: Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon. While in the 1970′s Walt Disney World was not a vacation kingdom of the world as we know it today, with 23 resort hotels, which includes spas, camp grounds, bars, you name it, Walt Disney World will have it. With Magic Kingdom changing over the past 40 years we are looking forward to the next several years with Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, an interactive experience coming to the park in 2012, and the Fantasyland Expansion which will double the size of the original Fantasyland starting to open in mid-2012. Magic Kingdom has severed several generations with entertainment, excitement, and memories and we wish the park many more anniversaries to come.

More announcements coming from the prequel of Monsters Inc, Monsters University, came out. The plot is that both Mike and Sully are both accepted to Monsters University and both are training to become a scarer which is a high class opportunity such as a astronaut. Also in this session concept art of the younger Mike and Sully were displayed. Does this mean that the young Mike and Sully will appear in the film as a flashback? I hope so. Also related to Pixar is that a short will appear with the Muppet’s Film, Buzz Lightyear will be left at a fast food restaurant, which was swapped with a kids meals Buzz. Such as Toy Story 2.

The last announcement is that a new Mickey and Walt statue will appear in Disney’s California Adventure. The statue will appear on Beuna Vista Street when it opens in 2012. The statue will be of young Walt Disney stepping of a train in California from Kansas City. (Image Below)

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Session hosted by Tom Stags:

The much anticipated session in all the D23 Expo was the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Session. During the first Expo we learned about Star Tours 2.0 and the Fantasyland Expansion. But this years session was a downer for lets say about everyone. We know that Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort is seeing it’s biggest expansion in Magic Kingdom’s history. Also much of Magic Kingdom and Disney’s California (Construction) Adventure is under blue tarps, construction, but not the other parks as of yet. As of yet means their may be an announcement at other sessions. But their were some announcements for Shanghai Disneyland and Disneyland in Anahiem. First off Shanghai Disneyland will have a boat ride going through and around their Fantasyland. As well Enchanted Storybook Castle will have a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique , interactions, meet and greets, and more in a multi-level castle.

Disneyland will also be getting an expanded Fantasyland with Fantasy Faire Experience coming. This new experience will come with new cottages, and pavilions. Guests will be able to visit Disney royalty from Snow White to Beauty and the Beast to Disney and Pixar Brave. We will keep on top of this exciting announcement for Disneyland. Also at Disney’s California Adventure cast members in Carsland will be wearing Hawaiian style shirts in recognition to John Lasseter.

We leave you off this evening with a Computer Generated Look at the Snow White’s Seven Dwarfs Mine Train:

An outside guest reported to us that power from the end of Sunset Boulevard on up to the Tower of Terror blacked out a couple minutes after one o’clock. Cast members went out onto Sunset Boulevard to direct guests out of the area once they heard something was technically wrong. Although Rock’N Rollercoaster power was blacked out all guests on the limos were off without any hassles. Luckily, for the matter of fact, Tower of Terror was re-opening from being in the evacuation status in late morning when the incident happened. Although the attraction was already back to it’s normal state but the boarding process didn’t begin yet. Following later that day Disney then decided that the Tower of Terror attraction would be closed indefinitely. All electricity for Sunset Boulevard was returned by two o’clock on this April Fools Day.

April Fools! Some of the facts about electricity going out if all three elevators shafts go at the same is a rumor but however is thought as truth. But out of that all of this was done out of fun for April Fools Day. We hope nothing like this on the Tower of Terror attraction, although if it did happen we know, and hope, Disney would have a pre-caution in place.

• The Tomorrowland Terrace is now open for dinner daily for the Spring Easter period break. The terrace is open till April 26, 2011 from 5 to 9 PM which offers you Alfredo with Chicken, Beef and Blue Cheese Salad and a lot more.
• Town Square Theater is rumored to be opening on April 1, 2011. But confirmed by the Disney Parks Blog is that guests will be meeting Magician Mickey keeping with the theme of Main Street USA. The color scheme of the lobby will remind guests of the historical theaters. Throughout for the meet and greets, guests will be able to interact with Mickey posters.
• Magic Kingdom Hours for April have been extended very greatly due to the spring break season. Please check your time guide for the daily park times.
• The animated Hitch Hiking Ghosts have now since returned back to the Haunted Mansion after being replaced by projected animations a while back. But the mirror affect is not operational as of yet.

Epcot:

• Epcot’s International Gateway is receiving new canopies with a color change. The color scheme prior to the change was red and will now be green.

Around the Walt Disney World Resort:

• Guests at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be allowed to go online for free for about the next 28 days. Disney’s is testing a pilot program to test a design of wireless/cell phone coverage configuration. Free wireless is only allowed in specific areas including: Lobby, Wave Restaurant and Lounge, Main Pool, and Convention Center.

News from Around the World:

• We were grieved by a sadden death this week of Elizabeth Taylor. Elizabeth Taylor was a frequent guest at Disneyland when she had time to attend. We at YensidStudios will miss one of the last of the Golden Age of Hollywood.
• UPDATE: It’s been over two weeks since Disney has closed Disneyland Tokyo. The Walt Disney Company has announced some operations around the parks will resume, however the parks will not re-open. The owner of Disneyland Tokyo, Oriental Land Co., stated that the inspection show no major damage and that the parks are in good condition. Although however the parks will remain closed due to electricity and transportation systems being limited.

• The new extended Haunted Mansion queue has now entered soft opening stage. Included in the new interactive queue are new gravestones and a lot more, which we will talk about in another blog post.
• The tracks at Indy Speedway have now since re-opened. The tracks were re-worked for the Storybook Circus area in the Fantasyland Expansion, while the attraction remained open.
• The re-opening for the Tiki Room has now been pushed back a third time for a re-opening date of July 1, 2011. The Tiki Room closed following a minor attic fire back in January.
• Walls around the Town Square Theater are now coming down for a slated opening of the Character Meet and Greet for during the spring.

Epcot:

• There is now testing of turnstyles at the front entrance of Future World. These new turnstyles will help with guest flow into the park and help people with strollers and wheelchairs as there is no turnstyles per se. You just scan your ticket and walk right in. As far as right now this is only in test stages.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• Tatooine Traders at Star Tours is going to be closing for refurbishment on April 4 and is expected to re-open on April 17, 2011. The shop is expected to be re-done for the new Star Tours 2.0. The “new” Star Tours is slated to open on May 20, 2011 for the Star Wars Weekends.

News from Around the World:

• Yes this is actually around the globe coming straight from Tokyo Disneyland. As it has been a week from the catastrophic and disturbing earthquake and tsunami, Toyko Disneyland has yet to re-open. Here is some updating since we reported on Monday: The Walt Disney Company will be donating 2.5 million dollars to the Red Cross to help in the effort of recovery. The earthquake as stated before caused minimal damage to the attractions, but cause major damage to the local infrastructure and to transpiration systems. A decision on when the parks will re-open will be made on March 21, 2011. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to those in Japan who have been devastated by this mother nature attack.

• Critter Country reopened after it closed in late January. While most of the land’s attractions are open, the Hungry Bear Restaurant is still closed until later this week. Also Splash Mountain remains closed until late May.
• The new DVC location in tomorrowland is up and running. Did we really need another one?
• GREAT NEWS! The Fantasia Gardens seating area is no longer a smoking area! This is a beautiful area to sit and relax.
• Mardi Gras decorations have been removed from New Orleans Square.

Disney California Adventure:

• There are more walls to be found near the entrance of DCA as vertical construction of the Carthay Circle Theater is started!
• New signage for the Disney Junior – Live on Stage! has been spotted at the Hollywood Pictures Backlot as well as new “Disney Theatre marquee signage.
• Scaffolding came down on most of the new Little Mermaid attraction’s façade last week. It looks stunning!
• Progress is also being made on Goofy’s Sky School and the Paradise Garden Dining Area.

Disneyland Hotel:

• Work continues on the remodeling of the magic Tower into the Fantasy Tower as well as construction on the new Monorail-themed water-slide and Tangaroa Terrace dining facility.

Downtown Disney:

• Disney officials announced Monday that two stores are set to open in Downtown Disney. The stores are: Blink, a denim-based store by Wet Seal, and Sanuk, a footwear location. March 17^th is St. Patrick’s Day! So if you’re headed to the parks (and even if you’re not) don’t forget to dress for the occasion and wear plenty of green!

Lastly we’d like to send out our thoughts and prayers to those affected by the disaster in Japan. We wanted to give an update on the condition of Disneyland’s cousin Tokyo Disneyland. The park has closed and is expected to be for an estimated 10 days. We applaud the cast members of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea for treating their guests with the utmost respect and providing blankets, food and water to guests stranded at the resort. Another devastation to the Disney Park world is that a cast member passed away early this morning. The cast member was working on the refurbishment of Primeval Whirl before he hit his head yesterday evening. He was flown to a nearby hospital while later died because of severe head trauma. Our thoughts and prayers go to the cast members family and friends.

• Club 626 on the Tomorrowland Stage will be making it’s return for the Spring Break season. The show will be from four to ten in the evening. This Stitch show will take place at the Rockettower Plaza Stage.
• Somewhat a sad piece of news is that Walt Disney World Grad Nights that has been suspended after this year. Disney has stated on the Disney Parks Blog “With more leisure guests visiting in the springtime, it’s become challenging to schedule special events during April and May.” This saying Disney will be giving opportunities for students to visit at anytime during the school year with special discounts.
• A new sign on the Town Square Expo Hall indicates the transition from the Expo Hall to the Town Square Theater has taken place.

Epcot:

• Via Napoli has begun offering pizza by the slice once again. You can pick up the slices at the quick service window at the front of Via Napoli.
• Innoventions Plaza is now getting pavement upgrades.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• As rumored to be announced by YensidStudios Blog, there are now walls up around the Speeder-Bike near Star Tours.

Around the Walt Disney World Resort:

• There are new paper napkins, paper plates, cups and drinking mugs promoting the “Let the Memories Begin!” campaign.
• RIDEMAKERZ is set to close its current location in Orlando on April 30, 2011. It is unknown if the store will be moving to a new spot in Downtown Disney.

Over in California and all over the USA students are getting ready for spring break, and so are the parks! If you’re thinking of heading over to the Original Happiest Place on Earth, bring your sunscreen and an extra dose of patience because it’s going to be PACKED!

Disneyland:

• The façade for Fargo’s Palm Parlor is back after a quick re-paint. A prime place to watch parades in the shade!
• In Tomorrowland there is a new UFO shaped DVC booth. Stylish.
• Also in Tomorrowland repaving continues, alongside ongoing construction of the new Star Tours 2.0.
• Over in Fantasyland, The Castle Heraldry Shoppe is out from its façade refurbishment!
• In Frontierland, work next to the Mark Twain dock has come up. Be careful as this makes for a bottleneck path and is causing some traffic through that area.
• Further down the Rivers of America in New Orleans Square, walls and scaffolding still surround the Cristal d’Orleans as its façade gets a complete refurbishment. While the shop is small, its corner location merits plenty of façade sq. feet.
• Critter Country reopened yesterday as the Hungry Bear emerged from refurbishment, March 8^th. However, Splash Mountain still remains behind walls as it continues through refurbishment.

Disney’s California Adventure (of construction!)

• Vertical construction can be spotted taking place on DCA’s new entry turnstiles. Make sure to hop on the monorail for a better view!
• Inside, work continues on the re-theming of Playhouse Disney into the new Disney Junior- Live on Stage in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot.
• Construction continues on Cars Land. (I personally wish they’d call it Radiator Springs.)
• The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is truly taking shape. The outside shows some great detail and architectural features. Looks amazing!
• Goofy’s Sky School and the Paradise Garden Dining Area (including a new beer stand) are still under construction.
• The meet –and-greet gazebo is back and in full swing. Currently you can only meet mickey there but soon he will be joined by Duffy. Disney hopes it will boost Duffy teddy bear sales. (And with how cute Duffy is who could resist?)

Disneyland Hotel

• While the hotel is being worked on, progress has been made with the construction of the monorail themed water slides at the pool.

Magic Kingdom:

• Peter Pan’s queue is expected to be lengthen to where the Fantasyland / Liberty Square Bathrooms are located. These bathrooms are expected to be moved to the once desolate Fantasyland Skyway Station. This should be finished before the “New Fantasyland” opens in 2013.

Epcot:

• The 2011 International Flower and Garden Festival has now kicked off. The Flower and Garden Festival now hosted by HGTV will last until May 15, 2011.
• The Le Cellier Steakhouse has changed their dinner menu to be more “Signature Style Dining.” What does this mean? Well due to the fact of the Dinner being two table credits now you will be able to get more for your money. The entrees have become more directed for only the Le Cellier Restaurant with prices now reaching to the 30 – 40 dollar mark.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• The “re-imagined” Playhouse Disney or now known as ‘Disney Junior – Live on Stage!’ is now officially open. Please check your times guide for the show-times.

News from Around the Walt Disney World Resort:

• The Harley-Davidson shop that is in Pleasure Island will be moving to a permanent spot of the West Side. The shop will be moving due to the re-construction of Pleasure Island to Hyperion’s Wharf. The shop is expected to be moved in the early part of the summer of 2011.

News from Around the World:

• Jungle Cruise – The Movie. Yet again another Disney attraction is getting it’s own film. The highly speculated, for many years, Jungle Cruise the film is now having it’s script re-worked. Their was already a script made out but due to many delay-ments the film was called off. It is expected that Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will be staring in the film, but this is only speculation. But if they do this will be another Disney film that have been made together since Toy Story 3. We will be sure to stay on top of this film and where it goes down the road of Hollywood.

• Mickey and Minnie’s meet and greet at Town Square Theater will have the first of its kind FastPass system for meet and greets. When the Town Square Theater opens in late spring early summer the Disney Princess will be meet and greeting alongside Mickey and Minnie until their new homes in Fantasyland is finished.
• Magic Kingdom hours for March have been extended from 8 A.M. opening till 1 A.M. closing with several Extra Magic Hour evening concluding to a 3 A.M. closing.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• Disney Junior! – “Live on Stage” will be opening on March 25^th from it’s transformation from Playhouse Disney. This re-imagination is due to Playhouse Disney switching to Disney Junior brining in new shows such at “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” and brining back shows such as “The Little Einstein’s” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” This re-imagined show will come to life with puppets and live characters with many interactive moments.
• ESPN Weekends kicks off next weekend from March 3, 2011 to the 6^th. In addition to seeing several MLB, NCCA, NFL, and NBA atheletes their will be several live telecasts and radiocasts. Many of the telecasts will be taking place in front of the Sorcerer Hat. While some of the radiocasts such as “Mike and Mike in the Morning” on ESPN Radio will be taking place at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

Magic Kingdom:

• Since Mickey and Minnie’s homes have been closed they have been moved to the locations of Tomorrowland, Frontierland, and Liberty Square. Their official true homes when completed with construction will be Town Square Theater or more respectively know as Town Square Exposition Hall. To meet Mickey and Minnie in their usual wardrobe visit them next to Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. All other meet and greets in the different lands the wardrobe will be respective to the land.
• Magic Kingdom suffered a major power failure this past Tuesday morning which shutdown many of the attractions. This has been seemed to be caused by an air compressor which caused the electricity to go out. All attractions were re-open around noon on Tuesday.
• Liberty Square Riverboat will be “placed in drydock” going under a refurbishment in May from May 5 to the 19th.
• Hours this past week have been extended at the Magic Kingdom due to some heavy upcoming crowds for this President’s Day Weekend.

Epcot:

• Tinkerbell and her friends have arrived at Epcot  due to the reason of Mickey’s Toontown Fair being closed. They will hold their meet and greets outside of Mouse Gears.
• Epcot’s International Flower and Garden, plants, and other construction work is taking place. The Flower and Garden Festival will open on March 2, 2011.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• New meet and greet construction is now taking place near Echo Lake. There is no word on who will be meeting at this new meet and greet.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

• Operating hours for March 2011 have been boosted two hours for most dates.

• Starting off first and a piece of sadden news coming from the back of the Kingdom, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and their fairytale and princess friends are being evicted from Mickey’s Toontwoon Fair. Sadly Toontown Fair is seeing its last day of recognition as a land, and not as a circus. With the Fantasyland Expansion occurring Mickey’s Toontown Fair has to close to make way for the Dumbo the Dueling the Flying Elephants, and a lot more to come in this new Storybook Circus land.
• El Pirata Y el Perico Restaurante the restaurant across from the Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland has now re-opened from being closed for a while with a new name to Totuga Tavern.
• Walt Disney World Parks have set new permits for the Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid this includes some structural designs and the icing to top the cake both inside and outside.
• Once again Cinderella’s Castle is receiving a facade clean-up facing Fantasyland. This happens to be right-outside the Cinderella’s Royal Table Restaurant with a fake facade, scrim, up the views to Fantasyland from the restaurant have been blocked.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• Phineas and Ferb will be offering meet and greets beginning in May. The meet and greets will be offered near the exit of MuppetVision 3-D.
• Star Wars Weekends 2011 dates have been officially announced from May 20 to June 12, 2011. We will have another post sometime in the near future discussing about Star Wars Weekend, and this years line-up.
• A few new characters that will be joining the intergalactic guests on Star Tours 2.0: The Adventures Continue include, the one and only Darth Vader, some new skytroopers, Boba Fett, Master Yoda, Admiral Ackbar, Princess Leia. We are very much looking forward to what Disney has in store for the Star Tours attraction.

News from Around the Walt Disney World Resort:

• Disney’s Pop Century “Hippy Diddy” pool will be closing for refurbishment. The pool will close from February 14 till March 11, 2011.
• Disney’s Fort Wilderness quiet pool will be closing for a refubishment from March 14, 2011 till Aprill 22, 2011.
• Desintation D: Walt Disney World 40th will be taking place May 13, and 14th at the Fantasia Ballroom at the Contemporary Resort. Tickets will become available on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 1 PM ET.  More information can be found at www.d23.com

News from Around the World:

• The fourth quarter for Disney has been great for the Disney Company. Disney has made 1.3 million dollars up 456 million from the year prior. Park attendance went up 2 percent, and revenues went up 10 percent.
• Star Tours 2.0 at Disneyland’s Magic Kingdom will be opening in June 2011. The expected date was to be May 20 but had to be pushed back. The Little Mermaid: Under Sea Adventure will be opening no earlier then June 2011, but it does have an expected spring-opening.
• Mickey’s Soundsational Parade will be making it’s way back to the Disneyland Resort, Magic Kingdom, this summer. Will there be another Summer Nightastic for Disneyland with all these attractions opening around the summertime, we will see.

• The Character Meet and Greet for Mickey and Minnie will be moving to the area around Space Mountain once Mickey’s Toontown Fair closes. Its unclear yet if this location for the “mouses” will be temporary. But we will keep on top of this story if however they do consider a move to the Town Square Expo Hall.
• The annual Superbowl motorcade featuring either the Stealers or Packers is set to roll down Main Street USA on February 7, 2011 at 2:15 PM. With the motorcade comes a change for the daily Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade. The parade will be moved from it’s regular 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
• The Enchanted Tiki Room is expected to re-open from being closed on March 27, 2011 after sustaining minimal damage from the attic fire. The show will be the same however with some clean animatronics, and a new Iago animatronic which was critically damaged beyond repair.
• Chilean Miners whom were stuck underground for 60 plus days back in 2010 had some fun in the sun at the Magic Kingdom this past week. They where honored in a pre-parade prior Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade.

Epcot:

• “What’s Your Problem?” at Innoventions West will be closed for good tomorrow February 5, 2011. This happens to the result of Velcro’s sponsorship of the area ending February 5, 2011.
• The New Pixie Hallow Garden for Disney Fairies will be meeting outside of Mouse Gears. This is due to the result of the Fairies being kicked out of Mickey’s Toontown Fairies. The meet and greets will begin on February 12 at 9:30 AM.
• Yong Feng Shangdian shop located in World Showcase at the China Pavilion is closed for long refurbishment. This shop is the large China shop that offers everything from swords to tea cups. The shop is expected to open on April 1, 2011.

News from Around Walt Disney World:

• Bomb Squad was called to the Shades of Green, military resort, on Tuesday. The package was not however hazardous but the sheriffs office took precaution due to an international conference taking place.

News from Around the World:

• A fire broke out at the new Disney Resort, Aulani. The fire broke out on the 12th floor roof. Although it was small it costed massive damage costing $20,00 to fix everything damaged the roof to the contents of the building. The resort is expected to open in the Fall, and it is unknown if this has pushed the opening of the resort back.
• There were new photos taken inside of Star Tour’s 2.0: The Adventures Continue. George Lucas took a tour of the renovated Star Tours to see all the work in progress and took a ride aboard Starspeeder 1000. George posed with the new pilot of Starspeeder 1000, C3PO.

• The rumor about Splash Mountain receiving lap bars are now true. It has come to Disney’s attention that several guests cannot follow simple instructions putting themselves and other guests at risk while getting out of the boat mid-attraction. So Disney Parks had to implement lap bars to the “Brer Log.”
• Pecos Bill Quick Service Restaurant is now receiving an exterior refurbishment with a scrim around the Adventureland side of the building.
• A couple Yensid News Reports ago we announced Tomorrowland Indy Speedway will have lane closures, well the lanes are now closed and well underway with the Fantasyland Expansion.
• The Adventureland Bridge linking Adventureland to the Hub is receiving a well need refurbishment. Rumors are saying that Disney will be replacing the bridge.

Epcot:

• The Provisional list for Epcot’s Flower and Garden, Flower Power Concert Series have been announced.

• Let the Memories Begin projection began yesterday, January 27, 2011 at Disneyland’s Magic Kingdom. While Walt Disney World’s projection is on Cinderella’s Castle Disneyland’s is on It’s a Small World Attraction. During the preview Disney Imagineers talked about the new Journey into the Little Mermaid attraction which brought the design-work to the Blue Sky Cellar.
• V8 Supercar has partnership with Disney’s very own Pixar. V8 Supercars will be helping promote the Pixar film Cars 2.

1. Years ago many people have listened or read the following rules Disney implemented into their attractions. Although sadly reading rules has become such a hassle.
2. In conjunction with the following reason many people cannot follow small rules. If you can’t follow these certain rules, then don’t ride the attraction their are other attractions that strap you in.
3. A few years back sadly another person did not follow the rules of Disney so sadly he stood up and got out of the log and was sadly crushed by another flume. Which forced Disney go to court for the death of this man.
4. This doesn’t relate to Splash Mountain, but overall it does. The trams for the parking lot for each theme park has integerated doors to the cars.  Next Splash Mountain is receiving lap bars for each log, what’s next? Sadly the non-so-Disney-fans, new guests, really don’t know how to listen to any sort of park rule. This leads me to asking if Disney put lap bars into Splash Mountain, and Parking trams, what attraction you think would be next?

While Disney Parks have put safety equipment in each and every attraction they also are now having to put double that into thrill attractions. Putting double the safety features into the attraction is not at all Disney’s fault to begin with. You may be asking me why are you yelling at the guests? Please don’t be alarmed most of the guests that go to the Disney Parks are not these types I am depicting. Although the small group of guest there are that don’t follow the rules, forces all the others that follow the rules to suffer. I want to thank the guest whom I am not depicting for following the rules, and most that read this post are. But if you are the small crowd whom I am depicting please do all of us a favor of being grown up adults and STOP acting like children. Thank you!

• “The Magic, The Memories, and You!” Castle picture show began this past Wednesday. Their was much speculation about this new show, but it seems like people are enjoying this new show.
• Exterior refurbishments are continuing through 2011 for Main Street USA shops. Scrims are now up on both Main Street Confectionary and the Exposition Hall.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• The Block Party Bash replacement, “Pixar’s Pals Countdown To Fun!” began this past Sunday down Hollywood Boulevard. This parade has heard a great deal of negative feedback of being short, not having all Pixar character such as Wall-E in the parade. As of yet I, MarcRTM haven’t seen the video of the new parade.

• Pixar and the Warner Brother’s Pictures with Walt Disney Pictures help is creating a new film on the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. This film will be a live action the first ever category of film for the Pixar Animation Studios. The film is scheduled to be released in December of 2012 under the name of 1906. We will be sure to give you updates when the film gets closer to release date, it really looks like a great flick.
• Sad piece of news coming from the ABC-TV Channel show “Live with Regis and Kelly!” is that Regis Philbin will be retiring from the show. Regis has been with Live since the creation, which marked him a Genius World Record recipient on the longest recording time on Television. Regis will be having his last show approximately during the summer, Regis announced. Regis you will be surely missed.
• The new beautiful cruise ship, the Disney Dream was officially christened on January 19. Welcome to the Disney fleet, the Disney Dream!
• The spring issue of D23 Magazine hits stands February 1, 2011. With the front cover and many pages in the magazine covering the Disney Dream, included in the magazine will be an interview with Sir Elton John, and a whole lot more.

• Enchanted Tiki Room fire. There was a small fire in the attic of the Enchanted Tiki Room which closed the attraction for two days this past Wednesday. Most of the area was evacuated for precautions, while the area re-opened after safety checks were finished.
• “The Magic, The Memories, and YOU!” the castle slideshow has a tentative date when it will make it’s debut on January 19th, twenty minutes prior Wishes at 7:40. The show lasts for about 10 minutes and will be accompanied by a new song.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

• The new tour “Wild Africa Trek” will begin this Sunday. Have some fun while you take your trek through Africa.

News from Around Walt Disney World:

• The AMC Dine-in-Theater is now under construction at Downtown Disney, which is where your server will bring you food while you watch a movie.
• The LEGO Imagination Center is moving temporarily to a store between Earl of Sandwich and Once Upon a Toy shop. This is for the renovation for the LEGO Center. The LEGO store will be moving into its temporary location on January 24, 2011.

News from Around the World:

• New innovative Disney Stores are comming to Europe in the countries of Denmark, Copenhagen, and for the very first time to have the Disney Store are the countries of Scandinavia, Dublin in the Republic of Ireland and Antwerp in Belgium.  New remodeled innovative Disney Stores are also coming to Palisades Mall in Nyack NY, right up the road from YensidStudios in Jersey, Westfield in Culver City, CA, Chandler Fashion Center in Arizona, and Northstar Mall in San Antonio, TX.
• Disney’s Aladdin a new musical is dancing its way into Seattle, Washington in Summer of 2011.
• Disneyland’s Village Haus has a new menu of: Chicken Suasage, Angust 1/3 lb Pastrami Cheeseburger, and BLT Flat Bread Pizza.

• A crane is going to be on site and visible from January 9 to the 17, 2011 around Cinderella’s Castle. The crane will be removing the Castle Dream Lights. The Holiday Season has sadly come to a close for 2010.
• Some lanes will be temporary closed for the Tomorrowland Speedway. This will be for the Fantasyland Expansion, more to likely for drainage work.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• Star in the Parks: Howie Mandel started the new year off the right year. Howie Mandel had a photo-op taken with Goofy.

News from Walt Disney World Resort:

• Roads around the WDW Resort will be closed temporarily this weekend, due to the Marathon’s that are going on. Please be advised of detours or use the Disney Bus transpiration while at WDW.
• Demolition work is starting to begin work for the new “Hyperion Warf.” This area of Downtown Disney should be completed by early 2013.

News from Around the World:

• The new Disney Cruise ship the Disney Dream has sailed its way right into Port Canaveral. In attendance were about a hundred cast members welcoming the Dream to it’s port of call. “Welcome to Florida the Disney Dream.”
• There is a new ticket for South Californian residents. Two days for $99; this is non-park hopper. So one day you go to DCA one day and Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom the next.

Epcot:
-International Flower and Garden Festival occurring annually in March to May of 2011
-International Food and Wine Festival occurring annually in fall of 2011

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
-Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun will be the newest addition to the Studios in 2011. This will be a new day parade replacing Block Party Bash. Block Party Bash will be taking it’s last dance down Hollywood Boulevard in just a few days on January 1, 2011. Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun will be adding several new Pixar Characters to the studios and will taking its first official role in Hollywood tentatively on January 16, 2011.
-Playhouse Disney Live on Stage will be going down for a lengthy refurbishment to be converted from Playhouse Disney to Disney Junior – Live on Stage. This new stage show will debut new characters, new adventures and a new marquee.  Disney Junior will also be replacing Playhouse Disney on the Disney Channel in February 2011, while Disney Junior – Live on Stage will be opening in March of 2011.
-Star Tours: The Adventures Continue will be opening sometime in May prior or on the opening ceremony of Star Wars Weekend. This new re-imagined attraction will have 50+ different riding experiences, new in-cabin effects and it will all be in 3D.
-Star Wars Weekend occurring annually in late May to about mid-June. Star Wars Weekend will bring in several celebrities from the Star Wars, Clone Wars saga, have meet and greets with several Star Wars Characters and many more surprises.

Disney Cruise Line:
-The all new Disney Dream will be taking its Grand Voyage in less then a month. The new Disney Cruise Ship the Disney Dream has the first of any kind experience with the AquaDuck which is a water coaster that takes you up and down into hairpin turns and about 15 feet of the deck. Plus many more surprises, and be sure not to miss this cruise ship when booking a vacation outside of the Disney Parks.

While we don’t know what others attractions, restaurants or event’s Disney is planning behind closed doors we do know these are in the works. • Additional attractions are added to the Extra Magic Hour Mornings for the Holiday week including: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
• 100,000 Poinsettias have been placed out for the Holiday Season. Can you count them?

Epcot:

• Operating Hours for Epcot has been extended for the Holiday week. Epcot will open at 8 A.M. on certain days and 9 on other and remain open till 10:30 P.M. for certain days. Pick up the Epcot Time Guides for exact times as they can change.
• A piece of sad news to tell you is that the Dragon Legend Acrobats will be seeing its final days at the China Pavilion in 2011. This performance has been kicking off, pardon the pun, several times a day since 1986. This Acrobatic performance should be replaced with new entertainment in February 2011.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

• Kali River Rapids has had reduced hours this past week again due to the cold front on the east coast.

News from around the Walt Disney World Resort:

• The Spirit of Aloha Diner show has been canceling several shows this past week once again due to the record-breaking cold temperatures. Also Blizzard Beach has been closed several days due to the cold temps in the Florida area.
• The Disney Online Dining Reservation System has now been expanded to book event and experience dining such as Dine with an Imagineer.

• D23 has a complete list of 2011 special events: May 12-13 Great Disney Scavenger Hunt: Walt Disney World Resort; May 14-15 Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th; August 19-21 D23 Expo 2011 in Anaheim; December 17-18 Magic and Merriment at Walt Disney World. • The Marvel-Disney owned “Spider-Man Turn off the Dark” show has been delayed from January 11 to February 7. This is due to the major technical difficulties they have been having during the show previews.

• **Breaking News** Mickey’s Toontown Fair will be closing in February to begun the second phase of the Fantasyland Expansion. The last time to see Mickey and all the gang in their town will be on February 10, 2011. Mickey and Minnie and the Disney Princesses will be moving to the Town Square Expo Hall as expected, Tinkerbell will be moving down World Drive to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, all the other Fairies will begin appearing at Epcot. This transition, with the exception of  Tinkerbell, will take place in Spring of 2011. Before that time all the characters will be spread out around the Magic Kingdom. With Mickey’s Toontown Fair closing the Toontown Station on the WDW Railroad will be closing through the course of the expansion however the railroad will still remain open.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• The Tower of Terror is now going through a quite extensive exterior refurbishment. The Hollywood Tower Hotel is surrounded with 50% scaffolding but the attraction is remained open throughout the refurb.

News from Around Walt Disney World:

• Blizzard Beach and Spirit of Aloha has been closed/canceled periodically throughout this week do to a cold front on the east coast. With Florida reaching only into the high 50′s it looks like it’s another year with cold temperatures reaching down to the southeast.
• With the cold temperatures throughout this week other attractions have had short operating hours including Kali River Rapids.

Refurbishment Information:

• The Quiet Pools at both the Polynesian and Coronado Springs Resort are going to go down for refurbishment in January 2011, the slides for Yatch and Beach Club, and Broadwalk will be closing for a short time; Broadwalk’s feature pool slide will be closing from February 7 to March 16, 2011, and Yatch and Beach Club Stormalong Bay Pool Slide will be closed from January 3, to February 10, 2011.

News from Around the World:

• Disney will be releasing a couple new pins related to the new film “Tron: Legacy.” Included in these pins are a limited edition Tron-O-Rail pin which will be selling coincidently at Epcot.
• Staying on the topic of Tron we have received an email from New Era stating that they will be selling Tron related hats which look superb. There are six hats that are going to be related to “Tron: Legacy” which are currently selling at http://neweracap.com for $34.99 to $35.99. Also for those living in the New York City area on December 16, 2010 New Era will be hosting a “Tron: Legacy” Cap launch party at New Era NYC Flagship Store from 6-8 PM. The first 45 people in line will be shuttled from New Era to a private viewing of Disney’s “Tron: Legacy” following the party. Images Courtesy New Era
• The New Disney Cruise ship the Disney Dream has now been turned over from the shipbuilder to the Disney Cruise-line. During the ceremony the Meyer Werft flag is lowered and the Disney Cruise Line flag is placed.
• Disney’s “Tangled” has now surpassed the 100 million dollar mark for Box Office.

Magic Kingdom:

• Well the holiday season is in full gear, which means less then ten Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties are now remaining for the 2010 year. But a friendly reminder tonight the party is sold out, and for the last party of the Season, December 19 is sold out as well.
• Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade has been filmed today and should be wrapping filming tomorrow, December 4, 2010. Included celebrities in this years Christmas Day Parade are: Mariah Carey, country singer Darius Rucker, singer/actress, Amber Riley, Disney Channel Stars: Selena Gomez and Debby Ryan, American’s Got Talent, young soprano, Jackie Evancho, American Idol finalist, Lee DeWyze, a band from Eat to the Beat Concert Series, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, professional celebaraties of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” and R&B artist, Sean Kingston. Regis, and Kelly are no longer the hosts of the Disney Parks Christmas Parade. Although however Ryan Seacrest, and Maria Menounos are the Walt Disney World hosts, Nick Cannon is the Disneyland host, and Samantha Brown will be the show’s travel correspondent. Check your local listings on when the parade will be aired in your neighborhood on Christmas Day.

Epcot:

• The American Heritage exhibit at the American Adventure Pavilion has re-opened highlighting many of the American related artifacts.
• Taqueria Del Lago, the temporary quick service Mexican Restaurant located in between the walkway into World Showcase and the Mexican Pavilion has been removed. This quick service restaurant was open for the course of the construction of the new Mexican Restaurant La Cantina. The area where the quick service restaurant once stood is being occupied for stroller parking for the Mexico Pavilion.
• Mouse Gears now has a new store layout, improving merchandise space and checkout efficiency. The old registers used to run along a wall although now have been re-located using the Emporium style of checkout which is being fed by a single line. Most of the merchandise has been re-located to different parts of the stores. “I hope this new layout has improved guest traffic throughout the store.” MarcRTM has stated.
• Disney Parks has a new brand of potato chips. These potato chips are now selling around Epcot, food carts and cost $3. These potato chips have now replaced Lay’s Potato that have been sold for many years at Disney Parks.

• Great news to everyone who dis-liked the balloons on the monorails. They are now gone! Yes, the monorails are now back to their original state. These balloons have been used for the “What Will You Celebrate Campaign”, which is slowly but surely coming to a close.
• Rock N’ Roll Beach club in Pleasure Island is now walled off. It seems demolition is slowly coming near for this at one time club. By the looks of it when Hyperion Warf comes into play this area will be a new retail district.

• Staying in Florida, and traveling down the road from the Walt Disney World Resort to Celebration, FL, the town has seen two sad deaths under a week, due to two separate shootings. Also on a related note the Celebration High School was on lockdown mode on Wednesday, December 1, 2010. As stated by a resident of Celebration “I’m home. No police helicopters seen hovering over my neighborhood today.” @KeithBarrett “It seems like the town has been going through a tough time lately, our thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends of these two who passed away.” Stated by MarcRTM

If you haven’t heard of Live365, now you will. This is a great website to find thousands of different radio stations ranging from Top 40′s all the way to Classical. Live365 also hosts about a hundred different radio stations for Disney ranging from the parks to the movies and everything in between related to Disney. Although on this post we will not be discussing about Live365 and the many other Radio stations included on this website. We will probably go into a Live 365 discussion in another series in the future.

This week we will be discussing two Apps I, MarcRTM, have found that is an easy tool to listen to Disney Radio stations that are on Live365 or on other radio servers. The first app we will be reviewing is the MouseWorld Radio App. This application is fairly simple, and very easy to use. If you haven’t heard of MouseWorld Radio. This is one of the first Disney Park Radio Stations to be on the web. MouseWorld Radio is run by one of the hosts of WDW Today, Mike Newel. Now back to the App. MouseWorld Radio app shows you what is being played on this radio station. Also included in this app is to press “Play” to listen to the station, and a volume button. That is what has been included in this app. This app is fairly simple for the people that have a difficult time to play Live365 on their iPod, or iPhone, including myself. This app is only available on the iPod Touch, and iPhone. Although there is an app for Live365 on all smartphone platforms. But I do request you to download this Application if you have an Apple Product that can download this.

Now moving onto another Disney Park Radio app, Disney Web Radio. This app is a bundle of different stations related to the Disney Parks. This however cannot be found in the App Store, but only works on the iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad, I believe. Included in this App are MouseWorld Radio, Radio Buena Vista, Reedy Creek Radio, Studios Central Radio, Sorcerer Radio, Theme Park Audio, WDWLive, and WDWNTunes. In that order. This is another simple app that can be used to listen to your favorite Disney audio. You press this station you would like to listen to and press “Play Station.” Then the audio via online stream opens.  Or something of that nature, I am unsure of what the stream name is, that opens. Also included in this app prior pushing “Play Station,” you can look at a synopsis of what the station is about. Although there is one negative thing that I don’t believe the App builder, Marc Silverman, has control over, is that the radio does not have multitasking capability. Although I wish this app did have this capability. Disney Web Radio is a great app for those searching for new Disney Park Radio Stations, and would request you to download this free web app.

That is going to do it for this part of the review series of “There is a Disney App for That?”. As December comes a closer, a play on words, we will continue reviewing things. These however will not be Apps, but tangible things including books, and other products. But be sure “There is a Disney App for That?” will be coming back in the near future, maybe not even as late as January. • Mrs. Potts’ Cupboard in Fantasyland has now been renamed to “Storybook Treats.” The possible name changes can be related to the Fantasy Forest for the Fantasyland Expansion.
• The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is now getting a spiced up exterior with wooden facades, and live trees. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh should be coming out of it’s refurbishment this Sunday, November 14, 2010.
• Well it doesn’t look like the Mad Tea Party will be getting a glass roof as once said. The roof like it is going back to it’s original design with the painted roof.

Epcot:

• The Epcot Monorail Station has now received a Coffee/Pastry stand. The kiosk is on the right hand side before going up the ramp to the Monorail Station.

• Disney will be unleashing new technology accessories for your iPad, iPhone, Laptop, ect. The accessories will be selling at the World of Disney Stores at both the WDW and Disneyland Resorts. The accessories will begin selling on November 20, 2010, I’d recommend to buy some of these cool Disney accessories.
• A new Tron television series, “Tron Uprising” will begin airing to your television in 2012. Tron Uprising will take place between the 1980 film of Tron, to newest film Tron Legacy. This series will be in animation and will be airing on Disney XD.
• ‘Disney Junior – Live on Stage’ will kickoff at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. This will be replacing Playhouse Disney at both DCA and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in March of 2011.
• A full-size scale of Tron: Legacy’s light scale will start appearing at Electronica starting tonight, November 12.
• Magic Kingdom is a film? Yes Disney has handed over the “Key’s to the Kingdom” persay to Jon Favreau to direct a new film. Jon has directed such films as the Night at the Museum, also has acted in Iron Man as Hogan.  Although writing for this film has not been finalized or finished, Disney is working carefully to address iconic characters, and attraction. We will keep you posted on when work and the filming process begins but don’t look for it to be in the near future.

• United States Thunderbirds F-16′s have flown over Cinderella’s Castle once again to kickoff Air Force Week in the Orlando area. In attendance were dozens of U.S. Air Force Personnel.
• Fantasyland Forest? Yes a dozen or so evergreen-trees have now appeared behind the Fantasyland Expansion Walls. Many people believe this is to cover much of the anticipated new – updated Fantasyland.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• Rock N’ Roller Coaster was closed this past weekend for two days. The attraction was closed due to unforeseen technical problems. Fortunately Disney Cast Members worked out the kinks and bought the attraction back to its normal self on Sunday, October, 24.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

• EMH (Extra Magic Hours) ending at Animal Kingdom? We don’t have any comments from Disney as of yet, but it looks to be that EMH Evenings have not been put in place from April and beyond of 2011. Walt Disney World may put in place EMH Evenings in a later date. But as of yet their are no EMH Evenings at the Animal Kingdom from April and beyond.
• Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade will be halted in November due to repositioning of animals. The parade will be closed, or suspended from November 7 to the 13, 2010. While the parade will not be running it will be changed into the Holiday special Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade.

• Kouzzina by Cat Cora at Disney’s Boardwalk will be closing for refurbishment from November 29, 2010 to December 14.
• Tomorrowland Terrace Desert Party has now be extended to December 29, 2010. Enjoy Wishes and Main Street Electrical parade right from the Tomorrowland Terrace while enjoying some backed deserts.
• Walt Disney World is poised to sell hotel rooms to the popular site Priceline for bargain hunters. It is expected that Disney Hotels will be able to be booked through Priceline through mid-November

• New Era is now offering Vintage Disney Collection Caps. These caps are inspired by Disney’s timeless animated short films that date back to the 1930′s. You can buy these caps at www.neweracap.com

Stars in the Parks:

• Tangled stars and directors have been spotted at Disneyland. Mandy Moore, voice of Rapunzel, Zachary Levi, voice of Flynn Rider, and directors of “Tangled” Nathan Greno and Byron Howard were at Disneyland to promote the new Disney Film “Tangled.” The two stars and directors had a chance to visit the new meet and great centered around “Tangled” in Fantasyland. “Tangled” is expected to open in theaters on November 24, 2010.
• Country Artist Brad Paisley and Actress, Kimberly Paisley were vacationing this past week at Walt Disney World Resort. They had a chance to take a photo-op in front of the Haunted Mansion with Minnie. Brad will be co-hosting the annual CMA Awards right on the Disney Owned ABC Network.

• The 2011-2012 Walt Disney Ambassadors were announced at Magic Kingdom a couple weeks back. The two ambassadors are: Jennifer Mason who will take the lead of Magic Kingdom custodial team, and Norman Vossschulte who will become part of the Walt Disney World Entertainment family. These two will acquire their position on January 1, 2011 and will participate in numerous events during their time in their positions.
• The operating hours around Thanksgiving have been boosted. Most times Magic Kingdom will close around midnight. For official park hours visit http://disneyworld.com
• It’s A Small World has re-opened ahead of schedule. It’s A Small World has been closed since August 1st, for queue rework. The entry queue is now where the exit ramp used to be and the exit is where the entry queue used to be. Your are now going to exit towards Fantasyland instead of going towards Liberty Square.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• Today, October 22, began a new run for a street performance on Hollywood Boulevard. Disney Channel Rock! which has replaced High School Musical has began their run. This performance lasts for up to 15 Minutes right in front of the Sorcerer’s Hat. Check the times guide for times of when the street performance will take place.

Around Walt Disney World:

• The fifth annual Old Spice Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports will take place on November 25, 26, and 28th. The Old Spice will feature eight college basketball teams with 12 games. The teams will be featured are from California, Boston College, Georgia, Manhattan, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Temple, and Texas A&M.

• The new Disney Fantasy will make its maiden voyage on April 7, 2012. This cruise ship will bring even more unique guests experiences and more innovation. The itinerary for the Disney Fantasy will be from Port Canaveral, Florida and an alternating seven day western and eastern Caribbean cruise. While the Disney Dream will continue to sail three to five day Bahama cruise and to the Disney Owned, Castaway Cay.
• On a television related note “V” on Disney’s owned ABC will make it’s Season 2 debut on January 4, 2011.
• It is expected that the new high-tech talking Mickey will debut in a show at Disney’s California Adventure. Mickey will play a central role in the new “Disney Dance Crew.”

• There is a now a new unload projection on the doom-buggies. This projection is to help guests exit to correct side. A green finger pointing to the left is projected onto the DoomBuggy in front as it enters the unload station.
• The Mickey’s Magical Milestone tour will be ending on November 20, 2010. No new tour is expected to be replacing this as of yet. Although all other Magic Kingdom tours will remain unchanged.
• Several months have passed with a scrim being in front of the Casey’s Corner Facade. Although some of the scrims and walls have been taken down. All other scrims, walls, will likely be taken down prior the recording of the Chistmas Day Parade.

Epcot:

• This past Thursday, October 14, 2010: Mickey’s own Teddy Bear, Duffy, began making appearances at the entrance to the World Showcase Promenade.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

• African Antelope are now beginning to appear on the Kilimanjaro Safaris. This African Antelope are near to extinction with only about 300 remaining in their native habitat. You can identify this antelopes with long corkscrew shaped horns.
• Kali River Rapids is closing for refurbishment in January from the 3 to January 29, 2011.
• Primeval Whirl is closing for refurbishment starting January 17 till April 5, 2011.
• Reservations for the new tour taking place on the safari, Wild Africa Trek, is now open. The reservation window is between January 16, 2011 to February 26, 2011 for the introductory price of $129. Park admission is required. Their are also many limitations to be looked before booking the tour.

News from Around Walt Disney World:

• Downtown Disney and the Sassagoula River launch boats to and from all four resorts will be suspended due to Dragon Boat Racing. The suspension will begin on October 16 from 10 AM to 5:30 PM. Normal watercraft transportation will begin after 5:30 PM. Although water transportation between the resorts will not be affected.
• Although Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party is sold out for Halloween, it doesn’t stop you from tick or treating. Downtown Disney will be offering free treats and entertainment on October 30, and 31. This will last from 5 PM to 9 PM.

• Disneyland Resort is now beginning to offer not only one but two tours centered around the Halloween Festivities, “Disney’s Happiest Haunts Tour” and “Disney’s Happiest Haunts Ultimate Experience.” These two tours will take you behind the scene of how Halloween comes to life in the parks and have a chance to experience the resort’s most popular Halloween centered attractions. “Disney’s Happiest Haunts Tour” will be held daily through October 31. The cost is $64 plus park admission. “Disney’s Happiest Haunts Ultimate Experience” costs $99 and includes admission to Mickey’s Halloween Party. It’s available on Tuesdays and Fridays only. Park admission is included. Both experiences can be booked by phone only at 714-781-4400. “Be sure to bring your death certificate, if you decide to join us.” “At this spooktacular celebration”

• The Mad Tea Party, Tea Cups, has been closed since September 26, 2010 and seems to be having the roof repaired. Some speculation going around is that the roof will become glass. Although their is no official word on this as of yet.
• Haunted Mansion cemetery is having a refurbishment as well. Their is speculation that the queue will become interactive as Disney has tested out before, during the earlier part of this past summer. As well the queue will also be re-worked to have wheelchair accessibility which I am glad to be coming to the parks. As my, MarcRTM, mom has limited accessibility, via walking, I’m glad that queue are now becoming accessible for wheelchairs. Although it is unclear if this is however true, but will be sure to keep on top of these refurbishments.
• The new meet and greet opening for Rapunzel and Fly Ryder has been pushed back. It is now expected to open up on October 25, 2010, prior the delay it was expected to open on October 15, 2010. The meet and greet will be replacing Story Time with Belle at Fairytale Garden in Fantasyland.
• Donald Duck now has a permanent meet and greet location opposite the Diamond Horseshoe Restaurant in Frontierland.
• The annual closing of Splash Mountain will be on January 3, 2011 to January 31, 2011.
• The seasonal restaurant, El Pirate Y el Perico Restaurant in Adventurland, has now been waled off for a refurbishment.

• Coming to theaters on Earth Day, April 22, 2011, is DisneyNature very “African Cats.” Witness the rivalry between two African Cat clans and an epic journey of one brave family.
• Disney names the former man that ran the media properties at Yahoo Inc, James Pitaro, to head up Disney Online, the home of the Disney branded and social media networks.
• You can now rent a Disney owned film from Disney’s Own Website, the rental costs $3.99, for 48 hour- rental period.  Including the rental you can also get bonus features including behind the scenes video’s, bloopers, ect.
• You know all those silly bandz that were once a big hit? Well Disney has now unleashed their very own take on the bands, Disney Theme Park Bands are now available in the Disney Parks.

Magic Kingdom:

• Grad Night Dates for the 2011 Seniors have been announced: Grad Night will be held on April 29, 30, and May 6, and 7, 2011. More information regarding the bands will be announced as we get more information.

Epcot:

• Future World has extended their hours till 9 PM, the time of when World Showcases closes. The original time Future World closed was 7 P.M., although most attractions stayed open until 9.
• Karamelle-Kuche the new Carmel restaurant at Germany’s Pavilion has officially opened this past Thursday . The shop now offers Carmel Popcorn, carmel covered strawberries, and mushrooms.
• The Fountain of Nations perimeter railing has now been officially completed.
• Food and Wine has officially kicked off their 15th Annual Yearly Event. Bon Appetite!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• More information about Star Tours II 3D has been announced at the Destination-D Event. Star Tours 2.0 will be set between sets of Star Wars Trilogies. “Star Tours 3.5″ Imagineers call it. Another piece of exiting news is you will never get the same experience twice, if you do not go on the attraction over 54 times.

• Parking trams are now being equipped with passenger doors. This is expected be placed in all four theme park, parking areas.
• Camp Kidani at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has now been discontinued.
• Downtown Disney has now set times for all common areas, including walkways, bathrooms, and green areas: Downtown Disney Marketplace: 8 AM to 1 AM; Downtown Disney’s Pleasure Island and West Side: 8 AM to 2 AM. Individual store, restaurant, and attraction times may vary.

• New Disney Princess Dolls, and Fashion Line designed for older girls will become available for the holiday season.
• Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 is coming to BluRay, and DVD on February 1, 2011. You can pre-oder the movie through amazon now.
• As announced in a past Disney News Post about a Muslim worker and Disney not allowing the worker to wear the headscarf well have now got more information. Disney has now allowed the Muslim lady to wear the hijab, with a berett and has been working fine for this past month. Disney does have a strict code for their costume although they do make religious exceptions and tries to make it fit the costume code for the land, area.
• A Rochester NY man has plead guilty for assaulting a 13-year old girl on a Disney Cruise Ship. This crime caries up to a 10 year imprisonment penalty.

Here is the Tip for Tuesday: If you see or know that an attraction is not moving or people are being evacuated, be sure not to get a FastPass for the attraction. Also another way to FastPass the queue is to wait until the attraction re-opens and be the first one in if it was evacuated.

• Astro Orbiter high a top Tomorrowland Plaza is going down for mini-refurbishment between December 5th and December 9th, 2010.
• Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is now sold out for October 31, Halloween.

Epcot:

• Epcot is going to begin offering meet and greets for the Disney Bear, Duffy. The meet and greet will begin on October 14 at both World Showcase at Epcot and over at Disney’s California Adventure. If you have no idea who Duffy is like I didn’t; it is actually Mickey’s very own teddy bear. If you see construction walls up near the entrance to World Showcase from Future World this is where Duffy will be located.
• Parfums Givenchy opened in the France Pavilion, as the first and only U.S. store. The shop will feature a full range of Givenchy make-up, skincare and fragrances.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

• Construction is now underway for the new savannah trekking tour. The tour also has a name “Wild Africa Trek” and will be opening for reservations in December, 2010, and the tour will be coming in January, 2011.

• Cirque du Soleil at Downtown Disney is closed for refurbishment and will re-open on September 28, 2010.

• Disney Worldwide Conservation honored six “Disney Conservation Hero’s” at the AZA conference in Houston, Texas last week.
• Limited edition ear hat Vinlymation is now available at D-Street both at Disneyland and at Walt Disney World.
• A Disney Employee has pleaded guilty on one count of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and wire fraud. The Disney Employee could face up to 10 months in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
• “Let the Memories Begin” celebration, will be replacing “What Will You Celebrate.” With this new celebration will come a video projection on the Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World and on Small World After All at Disneyland on select nights.  With the video projection will have many guests memories from their past trip and even the same day memory. 1. Here is some vacation tips to consider when packing for the vacation. Pack accessories, or any piece of clothing that resembles a character(s). For example: wear your Star Wars gear or Mr. Incredible hat to Hollywood Studios, and your Fab 5 shirt to Magic Kingdom because you have a high possibility to run into them there.
2. Long line, pass time by checking in on FourSquare or Gowalla on the attraction your waiting for. You may find out their are tips that users have sent in on FourSquare for shortening the wait time. If their are no tips use your smartphone internet access surf the web or download a podcast, or application. (Ill be sure to listen to a podcast or play a game when I’m down in October, or November.)
3. Talk with a cast member, ask why they came to Central Florida, if their name tag says they are from a different state or area of Florida. You can also do this out in Disneyland as well. You may hear a great story, and even get an extra desert out of it. (Or you may get some knowledge of where to move, if you were thinking of relocating closer to the world.)
4. Foodie Tip: Ask a cast member if you were torn between two appetizers or deserts if they have a suggestion. Also if you have a late dinner (around 9:30 P.M.) you may get an extra desert because they will most likely throw away, or give away, the extra desserts.
5. If you are at the Grand Floridian Resort, and are hanging around the resort after eating at one of the luxurious restaurants, be sure to bring your drink with you if you have it left. You can do this because all the stemware ends up in one area. But be sure not to bring the glass with you after leaving the resort. (That is stealing!)

• The FastPasses for the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh have been discontinued until the attraction finishes its full refurbishment in November 2010. The standby line will be open as normal until the attraction goes down on October 25, 2010 to finish the full refurb.
• Two cranes have been spotted in the Magic Kingdom. One near the Cinderella’s castle to begin the installation of the Castle Dreamlights for the Holidays. The other crane is located behind the Fantasyland Expansion walls.

Epcot:

• The first few Kiosks for the 2010 International Food and Wine Festival are starting to appear around the promenade of the World Showcase.
• The signs for “What Will You Celebrate!” has been removed from the entrance area. Their is speculation that the new celebration for the Disney Parks will be announced later this month.
• The new Mexican Resturant “La Hacienda de San Angel” has now officially opened for walk ups only. Advanced Dinning Reservations are now available for dates after October 15, 2010.
• Monorail Black has removed it’s “What Will You Celebrate” Balloons and now have some Halloween decorations covering the windows.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• The Block Party Bash is closing on January 1, 2011, to have a new, parade replace it. Although the new parade will somewhat have a resemblance to the Block Party Bash new characters including Remy, and Emile, from “Ratatouille”, and Carl, and Russel from “Up!” will be added to the new parade. The new parade also has a tentative new name “Pixar Pals Cavalcade” and is set to appear at the Studios on January 16, 2011.

• The Disney website has now launched a new page for the upcoming Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The new resort is going to replace the Legendary Years, an extension but never opened of the Pop Century Resort.

News from Around the World:

• The Walt Disney Company acknowledged on Thursday, September 9, that it has been hit by a spate sending out spam email with a virus. A Disney Spokesman announced that the companies email boxes have been hit with spam but did not affect the daily business operations.
• The Great Wolf Lodge will be located two miles away from the Disneyland Resort. Development of the new lodge is expected to begin in early 2011.
• The new Disney Epic Mickey video game is scheduled to be available on November 30, 2010 in North America and November 26, 2010 in the U.K.

• Construction walls are up around an island on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Their is speculation that this could be for the building of the expansion of the double Dumbo attractions, that the track will be moving, although this is still speculation. Or it could of course be for some drainage work.

• New Marvel Merchandise have been appearing at Mouse Gears.
• Two new actors, Ed Asner and Edward James Olmos, have been added to the 2010 Candlelight Processional narator list. Here is the revised list and always know the narrator list is always subject to change.

• A custody battle ends at the most Magical Place on Earth. The father has not seen his son with in over a year, and got a tip that he was in Central Florida. The father, from New York, found out where his son and guardian was, and notified the police. The gurdian was then arrested for interfering with custody.

• The Winner of the Fifth Annual Disneyland Half Marathon have been announced: Paul Ngeny, 31, led the pack of 14,000 beating the Disneyland Half Marathon time coming in at 1:07:24; Rachel Booth, 29, claimed the 2010 women’s championship coming in at 1:15:19 beating beating the all time record for the Disneyland Half Marathon for women’s championship; Scott Parson, 51, was the male wheelchair winner, and Sandi Rush, 49, won the women’s wheelchair division.

We will begin with my, MarcRTM’s, last trip to the World. Here is the story: We pulled up to the Epcot parking spot, and had everything we wanted from the car, we’d thought, and began are walk to the park entrance. Once we had got to the park we took our Annual Passes out, and put the ticket through the machine. Everything normal, and we had all got in. Then I remembered I had forgotten my camera in the car, so I had asked my dad if he could return back to the car and obtain it. “Thanks dad!” Once he received my camera, he returned to the park entrance. Not knowing that he would be denied park re-entry because he just came, and left. My father had to talk to the cast member about what had occurred and the cast member had then let him in. “Sorry dad!”
Here is the Tip for Tuesday: “Remember to check everything you need before you go into the parks, so you would not be rejected from park re-entry!”

• This past Monday, August 30, something new and unannounced, came aboard Space Mountain. Their is now an “off-board” musical score and new sound effects in the mountain. Announced from the Disney Parks Blog they said the new “Starry-O-Phonic Sound” has been in the works for quite some months now. This is unlike the Disneyland version of the attraction where the speakers are on board the train, actually there are 60 speakers set up along the entire track. The new musical score is also custom made for Space Mountain at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, and is not played at the Disneyland Space Mountain. The sound effects and score is timed to play as each train passes. Here is on board ride audio brought to you by the WDW New Today Network. This will be one of my top things to check out on my trip down to Florida in October, be sure to stay tuned for more updates from me about my opinion on the new enhancements.
• When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and when jack-o-lanterns pop up in the Magic Kingdom. That is the time when you call Halloween is approaching, and you start feeling creepy and crawly. Yes, Magic Kingdom has been getting decked out in the Halloween Spirit, pun intended.

Epcot

• The post area for the Imagination Pavilion is almost all walled off. Speculation is going around that Kodak is no longer sponsoring the Imagination Pavilion. This is also fueled by the removal of the sponsorship name on the park map next to the pavilion’s name. We will be sure to keep you updated on this.
• A couple more Retro-Epcot T-Shirts are appearing at Mouse Gears. This joins the other several t-shirts that have come out in the past months.
• The new Mexico restaurant Hacienda de San Angel seems to have the exterior close to being ready. Their are rumors that the restaurant will open on September 15, 2010.
• Actor Frank Langella has been added to the Candlelight Processional narrator list. Frank is subject to read the Christmas Story from December 2nd to the 4th. **NOTE THIS IS ALWAYS SUBJECT TO CHANGE**

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

• The long missed “eyeball” effect has now returned to the “Hollywood Tower Hotel.” You can see a photo of your elevator in the 5th Dimension in the eyeball and then it disappears to show a empty elevator.
• Even Disney’s Hollywood Studios is in the Halloween spirit, Celebrity 5 & 10 and Villains and Vogue are now selling Halloween merchandise.
• New Character Meet and Greets are coming to the grass area around Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner. The characters will be dressed in classic Hollywood attire, and combined with a new backdrop.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• There is now a new menu at Restaurantosaurus which includes angus burgers Shrimp Po’ Boy, Vegetable Sub, and sweet potato fries as an option.
• Flame Tree Barbecue has had their refurbishment extended a couple days from September 19 to the 25 of September, 2010.
• The Beastly Bazaar store near the entrance to Asia will be closing for refurbishment this Sunday, September 5, and will re-open October 2, 2010.
• There are new arrivals at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. There are now three babydoll sheep in the “Affection Station” petting zoo. The two five months old lambs and their mother are a small breed of sheep originating from England
• The musical group “Village Beatniks” will be performing its last set on Sunday, September 25, 2010 in the Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade. The Village Beatniks have played in the Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade since park opening in 1998.

News from Around Walt Disney World

• The new pet resort “Best Friends Pet Care” opened this past Wednesday at Walt Disney World. This new pet resort will be the only Kennel to lodge your pets in on the Walt Disney World Resort. All park Kennels have now since closed.
• D23 Members can now receive 15% off meals at House of Blues at Downtown Disney.
• A former Disney Cast Member has been arrested on Child Pornography. A Central Florida resident was accused of using XBox Live to download child pornography, and solict at least one boy to send nude photos in exchange for online points. Detectives arrested this man on 16 counts of possession of child pornography.

News from Around the World:

• Disneyland is subject to close 2 attraction for some upgrades. Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney’s California Adventure is subject to close down for a month for routine rehabilitation. The interactive ride is excepted to re-open on October 10. Also the annual season overhaul for Haunted Mansion has closed the ghost home. The Haunted Mansion is stated to re-open on September 17 in time for Destination D: Disneyland ’55.
• Disney Pixar’s favorite Toy Story 3 has hit the One Billion Mark. This is the first in any studio to have to films hit the billion dollar mark in less than one year. Toy Story 3 has joined Alice in Wonderland. Congrats to Pixar and Disney on this feat!
• Fantasia & Fantasia 2000 is coming to Blu-Ray DVD on November 30.
• Beauty and the Beast is to come to limited HD on the Big Screen from September 29 to October 2 at select movie theaters.
• Waking Sleeping Beauty is subject to release on DVD on November 30.
• Disneyland’s 45-foot tall Fantasmic Dragon has been removed indefinitely from a past weekend incident. “Seems the Overtakers Want Back!”
• There is now a new ABC Family President, Michael Riley. Michael will oversee ABC Family’s original programming and acquisitions, franchise management, marketing, sales and operations, and be responsible for the overall strategic and creative direction for the channel.

• The crane to set up the Castle Dream Lights for the Holiday’s will be up from September 13, to September 23, 2010.
• Vidia, whom is know as the fastest flying fairy there is, is now taking Meet and Greets at Pixie Hollow.

Epcot:

• The new Mexican Restaurant, Hacienda de San Angel, is now having signage and exterior details being installed. Hacienda de San Angel is supposed to open in late September.
• Fountains of Nations is receiving new LED railing. This should put away the rumors that the fountains stage will be removed any time soon.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• As High School Musical will be leaving the Streets of Hollywood Boulevard a new show will be replacing it. This new show is going to be based upon the Disney Channel Hits including “High School Musical”, “StarStuck”, and “Camp Rock.” The new show will be called: “Disney Channel Rocks” and will hit Hollywood Boulevard on October 22, 2010.

News from Around Walt Disney World Resort:

• On Saturday, August 21, a Disney bus with 26 passengers on board and a PT Cruisers were involved in an accident. The Florida Highway Patrol stated that their were no injuries.  A Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman stated the bus driver was not at fault.
• Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is adding Character Lunch Buffet for the outstanding demand for free dining through September on select dates. August 15 2010 – August 28 2010 (12:30pm to 2:30pm) and September 19 2010 – October 2 2010 (12:30pm to 2:30pm). Breakfast and Dinner will be offed as usual.
• Swan and Dolphin will be holding their first annual Food and Wine Classic. It will be held on October 8th and 9th (4:30 PM to 5: 30 PM will be Brevarage Seminars) (5:30 to 9:30 will have the tasting stations open on the causeway). This event will co-relate with Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival which will be opening the weekend before.
• Beginning this Sunday August 29, 2010 Trail’s End Buffet will be serving a lunch menu service instead of the usual buffet type of lunch. Their is no word how long this trail period will last.

• Glow Fest Celebration at Disney’s California Adventure has been extended till after Labor Day Weekend. In the fall Glow Fest will be with a “Tron” like themed celebration.
• At both coasts new merchandise T-Shirts for Splash Mountain will be making its debut in September and October. Here is a look at the three T-shirts: See more images here..
• Disney Cast Members donated supplies to thousands of local students in the Orlando area. Giving students classroom essentials is just one of many ways that Walt Disney World Resort actively supports education as part of its commitment toward building a better future for Central Florida’s children.
• Walt Disney Parks, and Resorts have agreed to pay back half a million dollars in back pay to cast members in result of violations. An agency investigated that the cast members were not paid for work duties that the employees did before and after their shifts.

• The Mad Tea Party will be closing for refurbishment from September 26 to November 10, 2010

• Sounds Dangerous will be operating till the opening of Toy Story Mania on August 29. No word has come out if it will be open when Star Tours goes down for its refurbishment.

• The PeopleMover has come back to Tomorowland in some way.  The attraction name has changed from Tomorrowland Transit Authority to Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, or just PeopleMover for short.
• Their has been a reduction in the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade with one third of the floats disappearing. The floats that were reduced were the Princesses. Although Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen were added to the finale float. The parade has been reduced 9 minutes. From 15 minutes long to 6 minutes short.
• Some retro Mr. Toads Wild Ride shirts are now up for sale at Fantasy Fair Shop next to Mickey PhillarMagic.
• For the upcoming Free Dine package these restaurants will be opening:
• The Diamond Horseshoe Review: Open select nights to offer table service family style turkey dinner. Counter service will be offered during the hours of 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. and which will offer hot and cold sandwiches.
• El Pirata Y el Perico Restaurante: will be open from August 15 to September 4, 2010 with the Mexican cuisine while using your quick service credits.
• The Club 626 party at the Tomorrowland Stage will be dancing up the night past Summer Nightastic’sending but for not to long it will last until August 28, 2010.

Epcot

• While I, Marc, reported on Twitter that construction walls are popping up around Fountains of Nations; Disney seems to be having more railing work done, replacing the final quarter of the green railing with stainless steel.
• The opening date for Germany’s Karamelle-Kuche, new carmel shop, has been announced. Theshop will open on September 22, 2010.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• Cast member felt ill after breathing in fumes from re-pavement in the parking lot. Six out of the Eighteen parking attendants and tram operators were taken to nearby hospitals for evaluation, and treatment.

• Former American Idol judge Simon Cowell financed a trip to Walt Disney World for a girl suffering with cancer. She will be staying at a Disney Owned Hotel and swim with dolphins on her 13 birthday. “Simon you really do have a kind of heart!”

• The recently added tree to the queue of Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is now covered in construction walls. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh queue area is set to go on with the refurbishment till the end of 2010.
• The Friar Nook, counter service restaurant, in Fantasyland has now added freshly mad potato chips to the menu.  You also have an option to add cheese, bacon and ranch for an additional price, as well you can also add cheese and chili with an additional price. Bon Appetite!
• Dumbo the Flying Elephant will be getting a new wait time clock as what It’s a Small World attraction has.

Epcot:

• More exterior work has been done with the new restaurant Via Napoli. It is set to open within the next couple weeks.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• The hours for Hollywood Studios have been extended for August 2010, and more performances for Fantasmic has been added.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

• The last day for Taste of Africa Street Party is tomorrow July 24, 2010. The street party begins after the Jammin Jungle Parade in the Harambe Village.

• Guests staying at Disney owned hotels on the WDW property can now choose the language they want their wake-up call on the in-room phone system to be. Languages vary from English, German, Japanese, Spanish, French, or Portuguese. This DOES NOT APPLY TO CHARACTER WAKE-UP CALLS, WHICH REMAINS IN ENGLISH!
• Well it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas or should I say Christmas in July, which is this Sunday, July 25. With this I come to you to say that Holiday celebrations at Disney World have been announced. Magic Kingdom: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas begins November 8 through December 19, on specified dates. Castle Dream Lights which begins on November 8 through the 3rd of January, 2011. Epcot: Holiday’s Around the World, stroll through the World Showcase and see different cultures celebrate the holidays begins November 26, through December 30, 2010. Candlelight Professional which begins November 26 with Isabella Rossellini. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios: the Spectacle of Dancing Lights will begin on November 8, 2010 and last till January 3, 2011. Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade begins November 26, 2010 and lasts till January 3rd. And a whole lot more festivities happen at many Disney Owned Hotels! • The new permanent meet and greet for Donald Duck is now completed outside of the Mexico Pavilion. Disney Imagineers put a lot of work into the new work it blends perfectly with the pavilion.
• Disney has unleashed the World Showcase Kiosks and Menus for the 2010 International Food and Wine Festival which will take place between October 1, 2010 and November 14, 2010. New Countries that are being introduced are Belgium,  and South Korea. For a list of all the Counties and Menus visit: http://bit.ly/9W6NcF.
• New directional signage for the World Showcase has debuted at Epcot. The signs are located on both sides when you enter the World Showcase Promenade. The reverse side indicates the exit to Epcot and where the monorail is located.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

• Five new animals were born to the World of Animal Kingdom. Three baby warthogs were born on July 1, 2010 and two oryx were born in late June. The mother’s and babies are doing quite well and are located in backstage areas. Look for them on the Kilimanjaro Safari very soon, if not already!
• A new tour is going to be put into action later this year. This tour will take a small group of guests behind the scenes and way into the undiscovered areas of Harambe Reserve. During this tour you’ll be able to spend more time with the wildlife and learn about the animals. Adventurers will also get to take a chance to go through an undeveloped forest of the Harambe Reserve and board a unique vehicle. Imagineers are still working out the kinks of the tour. Will be sure to keep you updated with more information about the tour as it becomes available.

• Grand Floridian Resort is receiving an exterior cleaning with the area facing the Seven Seas Lagoon.
• Disney Parks Blog announced that Kona Island Sushi Bar at the Polynesian Resort that was going though trial periods is here to stay.
• The Old Key West Resort is getting a well needed refurbishment within the rooms. The refurbishment will make the rooms more fresh and high-tech. Additions include Flat Pannel TV, granite counter tops, and addition of sleeper chairs in one and two bedroom villas.

• Vertical construction for the new Aulani Resort has finished. The new resort is set to open in Fall 2011.

• The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh FASTPASS distribution has been temporarily moved to Mickey’s Phillarmagic, while the imagineers finish up the final touches on the exterior of the attraction. Mickey’s Phillarmagic is not currently offering FASTPASS.
• Most of the construction walls that have surround Peter Pan’s Flight exterior for a few months now seems to be down. The entire front of Peter Pan has a new paint job and a new paint scheme.

Epcot:

• The new Italian Resturant, Via Napoli, will open in August 2010. With a delicious menu that will be offered. While you can now see Via Napoli coming out of the construction walls. Here is a view of the menu that will be offered: http://bit.ly/vianapolimenu

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

• Star Tour 2.0 now has a tentative date as to when the attraction will re-open: May 17, 2011. Note this date is always subject to change. Will Star Tours open as a big Star Wars Weekend opening?

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

• Flame Tree BBQ will be closing for refurbishment from August 9 to September 19, 2010.
• Cast Member preview of the new Taste of Africa Street Party occurred this past Wednesday July 7, 2010. As a cast member put it, it is basically a minute food and wine festival at Epcot. Prices are in the range from $2.50 to $4.00. Here is the report from the cast member: http://bit.ly/TOASP.

• The Walt Disney World free dining program has been extend to December 21, 2010. Booking window is till August 14, 2010. Certain blackout dates may apply so check with Disney or your booking agency.
• A Federal Jury awarded the creator of “Who Want’s to be a Millionaire” 269.2 million dollars in damages from the once prime-time game show. Creator Celador International sued the Walt Disney Company claiming they denied his fair of profits from the show.

• The area behind the Fantasyland construction walls looks vast and vary. Trees behind the walls have been cut back to the perimeter of Fantasyland. You can now see the tents of Toontown Fair around the area of Pinocchio Village Haus.
• On Monday, June 28, a variety of new PhotoPass options became open to guests for your onride photo taken in space, Space Mountain. The first option is that you can buy the photo as a print. A range of photo size and packages are available. Second option is that you can buy the photo as a digital download and view it at http://bit.ly/Disneyphotopass. The last option that is available is you can purchase a Disney USB Drive to put the photo on. The charge for the USB key is $24.95 which also comes with the onride shot and 7 extra professional stock photos of Space Mountain. Aditional photos can be added to the USB drive for $9.95.

Epcot:

• Opening today July 2, 2010 is the late Michael Jackson’s attraction, Captian EO. The hours of operation is with park opening from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M.

• Sad news came in on Tuesday that a worker was critically injured on Disney’s Aulani Resort. A 50 year old man was pinned by a scissors lift.
• Staying at Aulani Resort and on a lighter note is Disney Vacation Club opened sales for real-estate interests at the family-friendly destination time-share and hotel room resort.
• Traveling across the Pacific and Asia to Europe and specifically France, Disneyland Paris. The new Toy Story Playland at Walt Disney Studios Park will be opening on August 17, 2010.

~At Toy Story Midway Mania! there is a new game which replaced Bo Peep’s Baaa-loon Pop. News:
Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain is in soft opening period, with occasionaly going 101. Although the true opening of Space Mountain is November 11, 2009.
The restrooms in the old Skyway station has re-opened.
With the H1N1 flu Disney has take precautions with installing Hand Sanitizer machines at park entrances and around crowed areas.
Around the World: Locker rental prices have increased by a dollar small
$7 to $8 and large $9 to $10.
Wheelchair and EVC retals as well went up: Wheelchairs 12 for Daily 10 for length of stay.
EVC $50 with a $20 refundable deposit.
Its beginning to look like the Holiday Season at the World with every park decorated.

Review:
Audio Guide to Fanstyland: I would happen to give this a big not so easy 5 out of 5. As always Lou works 24/7 with so little sleep working on projects. Many people think he may be Walt Disney’s first human aminatronic but I think people are wrong. This is Lou Mongello your talking about he is the man who can do everything. So I gave Lou because of how many nightly hours he put into the guide, and many great intresting facts in the guide. THE BIG NOT SO EASY 5 OUT OF 5!!! Kudos to Lou.
WDW Trivia Book: I would have happend to give Lou a 4.5 out of 5 due to reading, yes I am not a big fan of reading, but however it is Disney, so everything Disney is great to read so thats why Lou would have gotten a 4.5 out of 5. Audio Guides may sound very familiar to those who listen to Podcasts, follow someone on Twitter, or go to his Meets of the Month. Hmmm. Who could that be your asking. Lou Mongello!, the host of WDWRadio, the author of WDW Trivia Books, Twitterer on Twitter, and many more creations. As you may know Lou Mongello was the inspiration to Marc for creating this blog, and podcast.

Now onto the Review:
The first Audio Guide review will be coming from the first ever Audio Guide as it is very efficient to go from the first to third. Audio Guides is where Lou Mongello surrounds you with all of Disney World without being in the magical place on earth. We will start with the Audio Guide of Main Street USA, the heartland of America. Many trivia facts as well as being surrounded by the Magic helps create the image of walking down the middle of Main Street USA. OK lets review, I would give the CD an easy 5 out of 5 stars. I am doing this very harshly but because of how much Lou Mongello put into the Audio Guide, as well as making you feel like your once again in the Magic Kingdom on Main Street USA I am giving him the easy 5 out of 5. Congrats Lou Mongello!!! Come back next week to see if the next product on the review will steal its 5 Stars.

American Idol Experience:
Here is the story. Don’t Arrive Late. This is told because if you are attending the Finale for American Idol and arrive late it will be a yes and no statement; yes if your in line and have been waiting they actually say no and no is no. I was actually part of the last 12 to get into the attraction. Now onto the attraction itself. I liked how they made the stage actually identical to the real American Idol stage. I adored all the personality the judges had. It also surprised me that the host of the show actually acted similar to Ryan Seacreast. If you enjoy American Idol as I do, this attraction is right for you.

Journey Into Narnia:
This attraction was disliked by me. I am not a big Chronicles of Narnia fan. Don’t hate me or anything but the book and movies are not my type. I was expecting more artifacts from the movie to be in the attraction. But I actually did enjoy the smell in there. I don’t know if its me or not but there is a significant fine smell in the attraction. But if you do enjoy the Chronicles of Narnia books and movies this attraction is right for you.

Harbor Attack:
If you are 16 years and older this attraction would be a recommendation. I had so much fun and met some guys from actually New Jersey and no I didn’t know any of them. But back to Harbor Attack. Harbor Attack is the special effects area in the pre-show for the Backlot Tour. You may volunteer for being in this pre-show. There is actually 3 to 4 people who can volunteer. One person becomes the mechanic of a ship in Harbor Attack. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to be a mechanic you just need to do 2 things when the Director of the set says “ACTION” pick up the phone next to you and hold on for your dear life because 1,000 gallons of water will be on top of you. And the rest of the group goes on the boat. One or two people are washing the ship and one person is navigating the boat. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to drive a boat the boat doesn’t actually move. There is water and pyrotechnics in the pre-show. Also if your in the front row you will get wet. So go to the second and third levels and you should be well dry. But I always wonder why don’t they have 2 levels accessible to the handicapped. But if you do enjoy water, pyrotechnics, sound effects and your 16 years and older you should volunteer in this pre-show.

Hall of Presidents:
This is one of Walt’s own creations. This has been refurbished within the last year. I like everything about the new refurbished attraction. With Morgan Freeman narrating the film. With now Washington speaking, and the new Obama animatronic. With the new lighting, and all the new artifacts that you get to preview in the pre-show area. I know many kids aren’t so thrilled when they go into this attraction. Just tell them “will go to Splash Mountain after this.” If you are a real history buff or enjoy the American history, this attraction is right for you.

Celebrate Today Parade:
“The 3 o’clock parade.” Let me say I did enjoy the music. I also did enjoy the floats and all. But me being a thrill kind of guy, this didn’t thrill me at all. I would say to everyone go and see it once and that should be sufficient. And yes I do enjoy Spectromagic, and I know that is like the same parade, but I like the parks at night for some reason, so I do enjoy Spectromagic. Also if you are a kind of person that likes to dance, you should enjoy Move it! Shake it! Celebrate It! Street Party, this party goes throughout the day, the times should be in the time guide.

Food:
Peco’s Bills: Thank you to Chris from Tiki Room Morning Show on Sorcerer Radio. Here is my review of Peco’s Bills. This is a quick service restaurant and you can use Disney’s Dinning Plan here. This restaurant is next to Country Bear Jamboree in Fointerland at Magic Kingdom. You can get anything ranging from burgers, salads, and sandwiches. You can also be your own server, by using a computer type machine, which I did enjoy. There is an outside and inside sitting area. You can view Wishes from here, also Spectromagic, and Celebrate Today Parade. I would return to this restaurant the next time down in Disney. Also would recommend anyone to give the restaurant a try.

Hotel Room:
All Star Sports, Surfs Up area: This was a good value Resort. There was plenty to do from swimming to the arcade, to the food court, and to the Resort store. If you are at the park almost the whole day, the value resorts are your stay.

Cast Members: Almost all the Cast Members at each and every park, resort, and everywhere on property are extraordinary. Would like to thank a bus driver that was driving from Animal Kingdom to Epcot after Night Extra Magic Hours whom brought us back to our Resort. Here is the story. My family and I always enjoy having the ability to use the Night Extra Magic Hours. So we took our advantage to use it at Disneys Animal Kingdom. We got in the parks and enjoyed the evening. Then we left and had found out that the line back to our resort ended near the entrance to Animal Kingdom. And to let you know the bus stop for All Star Resorts is very far from the park entrance. So we saw a bus going to Epcot and thinking that we will pick a bus up at Epcot. The bus driver asked if we were going to Epcot or going back to your Resorts. We replied we actually want to return to our Resort. Make a long story short the bus driver drove us back to our resort. Kudos to the Epcot and Animal Kingdom bus driver.

Also would like to greatly thank a cast member from the Great Movie Ride whom found my wallet. Also Kudos to you and keep up the great work, “whom ever you are.“

3) What was your favorite moment at the Disney Parks? Why?
A) My favorite moment at any Disney Park would have to come from my first visit to Disney World. And me stepping into Disney World for the first time is not my favorite moment. Mine is watching my brother step into the parks for the first
time that he could remember (He was to young to remember Disneyland.)
This moment was extra special to me because my brother has Autism, and
for him to see what I had talked about prior to the months leading up
to the trip be real, was the greatest moment for me!

4) What is your favorite ride at the Disney Parks? Why?
A) My favorite ride a Disney World (because I don’t remember much about
Disneyland) is… well I can’t really pick just one. They are all so
good! But if I really had to pick three, they would be in order: Tower
of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Test Track. I am a thrill junky, so let’s leave it at that. But rounding out the top 10 in no order are: The Enchanted Tiki Room, Soarin, The Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, Wishes (though it’s not really a ride! ), Toy Story Mania, and Expedition Everest.

5) What other interviews are you planning to do on DISCAST?
A) Well, from a podcast that I started over the summer, the show has gone
places that I have never thought it would. I have had the chance to
interview Mark Silverman, the voice of Rod Sterling on the Tower of
Terror, Frank from Mr. Franks Wild Ride, and Kat Cressida. So I am not
really sure where the show will take me and who I am going to interview
next. The only thing I know is that I will cross that bridge when I
come to it, and have a lot of fun doing it!

1) How old were you when you first stepped into the Magic Kingdom; and what do you remember from that experience if anything?
A) I was around Three years old when I first went. I remember going into the haunted mansion for the time being scared out of my mind. After getting off I wanted to do it all over again.

2) What first sparked your enjoyment into Disney itself?
A) Since I can remember I have always had Disney in my life. The movies and the parks. The parks are really the first time I got my first taste of Disney. I don’t remember a time in my life where I did not have some form of Disney in my life.

3) What was your favorite moment at the Disney Parks? Why?
A) I have to say my favorite moment has to be back in the old days. When Mickeys Toontown Fair was Mickeys Birthdayland. I saw Mickey getting ready to go backstage. I ran over to give him a hug. He was so happy to see me and he gave me a great hug. That’s something that has been with me since that day.

4) What other interviews are you planning to do on DISCAST?
A) We have a few ideas in mind. All I can say is stay tuned!!!!!

A: I first visited WDW when I was very young. So young that I don’t even remember how old I was! One of my earliest memories was a minor freak out I had. I couldn’t have been any older than 7 or 8. My older brother and my dad went on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I had a fit and demanded to talk to an official Disney Security guard so that he can verify that my bro and dad were ok. I was scared that they may sink. Awwwwww…

2. How did you get your start into enjoying the Disney Parks?
A: I guess I can thank my parents for my love of all things Disney. We made the trip down from NYC 4 times a year from the time I was ten until the time I graduated high school. I used to bring a tape recorder and record all the attractions so I can listen to them when I got home. I wish I still had those tapes. They are long gone!

3. What was your most memorable moment in Disney World, Disneyland?
A: That is a tough question. I have had so many great, and wonderful memorable moments at WDW that I really cant pick just one. There was the time my dad actually agreed to go on Big Thunder Mountain with me, and he was so scared the whole time. Then there was the time when we got a private meet and greet with the whole cast of the Disney Afternoon Show in Mickeys Starland…so many memories!! And as far as Disneyland goes, since I only have been once, I only have a couple Seeing Sleeping Beautys’ Castle for the first time…and snickering. Going on the Matterhorn. And watching Lauren get made in to a birthday princess at the Bibiddy Bobbity Boutique!

4. How did you get your start with Magic City Mayhem?
A: I have another YouTube channel that I started way before MCM. I put a lot of different things on there ranging from music videos of my old roommates band Hydrosonic, to just goofing around in front of the camera. Then I started bringing the camera with us on our trips to WDW. The amount of park videos I was shooting became so great, that it only made sense to make a separate channel solely dedicated to theme parks. And of course now, it kind of evolved in to something more, and that being covering all things Orlando and Central Florida attractions.

5. What are looking forward to show your viewers on Season 2 of On Location?
A: Season 2 of our weekly web show, will be something a little different then our first season. We are calling it “Magic City Mayhem: On Vacation”. Its going to highlight a lot of our adventures out west. And also several surprises. At this time, we are not sure how many episodes will be in the season (last season had 13 episodes plus a 5 part 6 park season finale; check it out on YouTube or iTunes!), but here is a little secret, there are already 6 fully produced episodes ready to go! The first one will be uploaded to all our multi-media/social networking outlets; FaceBook, YouTube, iTunes, Twitter; At midnight on October 1st, 2009! Hope everyone enjoys it!

First of all Disney has been lacking some villains in the parks, and movies. The latest villain in a big featured non-animation film was Davy Jones from the Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy. With the buyout of Marvel maybe Disney will consider making some villains, and start putting them in the parks. I know the parks are supposed to be family fun but have some meet and greats for young adults from about 12 through possibly the age of 16. Lots of young adults will have a thrill meeting the Green Goblin, and other similar villains. Its also a thrill to meet Mickey Mouse and all the other characters, but if you see the meet and great lines for those characters I often see little children in the lines.

Also I believe Disney has been lacking some thrill-rides. The latest thrill-ride, such as roller coasters, was built in 2006 with Expedition Everest. Maybe Disney will realize with the buyout of Marvel that they can create a new roller coaster, or Dinosaur ride somewhere in the Disney Parks. But I believe Disney should still keep the light rides for youngsters, and people whom don’t enjoy roller coasters. When building roller coasters: “Disney please don’t put rides over rides, such as putting a roller coaster track over sidewalks, this is what I believe makes your parks different from many other theme parks.” As you may see I have 2 different thoughts about Disney buying Marvel Comics. Magic Kingdom: Liberty Square Riverboat is closing down for a refurbishment on September 13- 19 of 2009.

Donald’s Boat is closing down for a refurbishment on September 7- 13 of 2009.

Epcot: There is new flooring being put down in the breeze ways in Future World. The new flooring is a non-slip surface. Also should eliminate the use of the yellow caution signs after a downpour.

Around The World: On July 5, 2009 during the early morning hours at the Transportation and Ticket Center there was a major accident with two monorails. Unfortunately one cast member died. Captian Austin Wuennenberg. The monorail system was down for the whole day on Sunday but was back up and running with some major protocols on Monday.

Diana the People’s Princess is now open at the old Virgin Mega Store. This is a walk through museum for Princess Diana. Tickets for ages 10 and up are $14.50 and ages 3 to 9 are $5.

At Typhoon Lagoon this past week a man was charged for groping young women in the Wave pool.

Memoriam of Austin Wuennenberg. Austin was a very young man in the College Program for Disney. Austin

began his career in Disney in October of 2008. At a very young age Austin was a geek in computers. He owned a 300 dollar calculator. Also he often constructed his occasional robot. When Austin was hired in Disney World he took his job with pride; reading the manual for hours. More than 350 mourners filled First United Methodist Church. About a half dozen Disney monorail drivers stood shoulder to shoulder along the sanctuary back wall. On Monday, July 6, 2009 Austin was under the trending topics on Twitter. Many Disney fans did a hash tag for the remembrance of Austin’s life. All Disney fans will miss you Austin. We will never forget you.

The Hall of Presidents is opening on July 2, 2009 to everyone. For Disney Annual Passholders you will get a sneak peak during this weekend on June 28th on what the newly refurbished Hall of Presidents has to offer.
Magic Kingdom is now offering a Wishes desert party. The event began on June 23, and will run through August 28, 2009. The desert party is located at Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station. The cost is 17.99 for guests 10 and older, 9.99 3 to 9. Seating is limited so it is preferred to make reservations but walk-ups will be accepted. Payment is required at time of reservation.
Epcot: There is still speculation about General Motors sponsorship to Test Track. The sponsorship ended in March of this year. As more updates come out I will make sure that there will be posted.
Disney Hollywood Studios: The July 4th Fireworks will be showed at 10 P.M. Also there is going to be 2 showings of Fantasmic. Times are 9 P.M. and 10:45 P.M. subject to change.

Rumors:
Magic Kingdom: Disney filed a permit that indicates that there will be an interactive queue in Space Mountain that would include games as what Soarin’ has over in The Land at Epcot.

There will be a new section to Remember the Magic blog. Every month I will have a new Disney World Top 5. Junes Top 5 will be easy just name your favorite Top 5 Disney World Rides that you enjoy and give an explanation, email me with the responses at remember_the_magic [at] ymail [dot] com. If I get a load of emails I will add my own and with an explanation and at random I will pick a person to have there Top 5 be put up on the site. This will run through June.
